Good morning Thursday

A place to chat with friends, old and new

Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 20 Aug 2020, 05:22

Good morning.

Fresh and breezy.... perfect for my walk. :D

Yesterday was wonderful at the Falls of Clyde. Such a beautiful place and so warm and sunny.

Today we've got a couple of old school friends coming over for the day.
We've set up a BBQ in the garden and stocked up on lots of goodies from Tesco (my new favourite shop)

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Bit foggy this morning, but we are forecast another lovely, sunny day 8-)

Enjoy the bbq Ally x

Been awake since silly o'clock  finished the book I was reading, so will have to find another one.

Grumpy will be staining the new bench later and we're heading into Ourique for some woodworm stuff, as we seem to have a couple of munchers in some of the beams outside. Will have a pit-stop for a couple of beers on the way back. Need to check the post too.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all :D

Bit dull at the moment, but it's supposed to be sunny as the day goes on.

Up extra early as my car is booked in for it's MOT today. Dave our lovely neighbour is going to pop it over to the garage I used last week. It's not been driven that much this year so fingers crossed it will be straightforward.

Poor Ed had a very long day yesterday, his consultant was doing emergency surgery so everything got turned upside down, he didn't actually see him until gone 5pm so didn't get back here till gone 8. All being well with the results of all the tests his op is scheduled for 2nd Sept, but he does have to go all the way to Stanmore for his swab 72hrs before. It seems mad to me, but them's the rules. I'll be phoning the transport peeps shortly to get both journeys booked in.

Our grandson Z should get his GCSE results today, fingers tightly crossed they will get him on his chosen course.

Definitely no plans for the next couple of weeks. If it brightens up enough expect we'll sit out in the garden later.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Good morning everybody.

The sun is out after heavy rain in the night.
Mrs.e is going tothe fracture clinic this afternoon. She is still in pain so hopefully they will find what is wrong.
Have deceided to go by taxi as parking is a problem.
Will be using the shower for the first time after having a new valve fitted yesterday. The valve which controlled the water temperature was sticking.
The otside of the new valve will not get hot and if the cold water supply fails the water coming out of the nozzl will not be hot enough to scold you.
Well worth the cost.

Have a good day everybody.

Morning all

All, enjoy the BBQ and catching up with your friends
Cruiser, fingers crossed the hospital can shed some light on the pain and make Mrs E more comfortable. And good idea going by Taxi, never mind parking being a problem it's also the cost. But just check that you're allowed into the hospital as well, otherwise you'll be hanging about outside.
Jan hope you get all your stuff sorted. Is the post box working out OK? What happens with larger parcels, do they still get sent to the bar or do you have to collect them from the local post office?
Jen, crikey that was a long day; did he manage to have the space to remove his mask and eat his lunch? Fingers crossed for the results. It is rather daft that he has to have a 5 hour round trip for the swab, but in the greater scheme of things it's a small price to pay for things to finally be under way
And fingers and toes etc crossed for Z - after the fiasco with the A-levels I hope that the GSCE results are more accurate. Let us know how he gets on please :)

Well the sun is shining today :Hi: :Hi: :Hi: yesterday was non-stop rain it was just miserable so having that yellow ball in the sky today is quite a pleasant change :D We have a office video call today at 12; it's a weekly call but today we're going to chat about returning to work. We had another call with big boss in the US yesterday and he confirmed that none of the offices will have a forced re-opening and people can come back as and when they want. He's always been very pro family / work-life balance and says if we can work as well from home as we can in the office then to do what works for us - he doesn't care as long as the work is done. But by the sounds of it I don't think any of us here in the UK will be heading back before January next year.

Hoping to get to the allotment for an hour or so to harvest my beans, didn't go yesterday because of the weather and they really need picking

But that's about it from me - have a lovely day all x

Good morning. There's no doubt that good neighbours are a boon Jen. What a day for E! I hope the results are good. Same with you Cruiser, fingers crossed the clinic can get MrsE out of pain. Give the woodworm hell Jan! Ally, your day sounds wonderful, yesterday too. Ria your big boss sounds like the type of boss to have. Enjoy the allotment today.
We have sun too, after the rain set in yesterday it was an utterly miserable day, so thumbs up for the sun today. :)
Eliza is here, we will probably go to Heath Common later and let her run around. She's already been to feed the ducks and seen a heron.
Have a good day all.

Hope the hospital can sort out Mrs E Cruiser, been a while now x

Don't know about parcels Ria, you're the only one who sends anything  and I haven't asked for anything for a long time ;) otherwise, yes, the post box is working fine. And your boss sounds lovely, hope you all agree to a January re-opening.

it's beetles Crommers, not wood worm. The little buggers fly in un noticed and then hatch eggs. One chair needs treating and I can hear one in one of the beams on the back terrace.

The fog has now gone and it's a gorgeous morning 8-)

Morning all, we are up a bit early as our grocery delivery is between 9-11, not arrived yet though. We’ve had lots of rain overnight and this morning, more to come I think :x Could I have a few vibes for Michael, please, he is playing in the Irish Junior golf open qualifiers today. Not much planned today, the bathrooms need cleaning and I also want to hoover out the car, Edward’s golf clubs left lots of grass in it (a week ago  ) Hopefully we might get some kind of a walk.
