A productive day

Postby meriad » 21 Aug 2020, 14:02

I know there have been a few posts on this before, but it really is worth either querying a renewal price or shopping around

My car and AA cover are due for renewal end this month. Existing renewal quote for AA was £283 and for car insurance was £433.00. So I contacted the AA renewal team and managed to get that rate down to the current new member rate of £179; and changed insurance provider and am now paying £267.

Yes, a bit fiddly to do and taken most of the morning, but a total saving of £270 for the year - that'll do me nicely thank you very much!

Oh and car insurance is with Sainsbury's where I do most of my shopping and all (any) shopping for the office; and they offer double nectar points on everything whilst I have a policy with them; so win win on that front as well.

Home insurance is due end of this year so I'll switch on that one as well no doubt.

next is my gas and electricity - will see what I can save there. Go me :D :D :D

Get you! :D :D :D

But you are so damned right: check - haggle - check again then depending on the result stay or move on. I only use comparison sites for pointers then go direct as I find that I can persuade them better by telling them exactly what I want over filling in a 'yes / no' online form.

With a saving of £270 the drinks are on you. ;)

that's what I thought to. yes, this year has been an odd one so less office spending, but usually between office and home I do spend quite a bit of money there. And it includes fuel.

Well done you :Hi: :Hi:

Here, we have EDP or EDP Commercial, which, oddly are cheaper than the EDP

So no choice, really :cute:
