Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 23 Aug 2020, 05:37

Good morning.

Packing a rucksack to go and see Craig for a 5 day visit. :D :D

I'm getting the 10.40 train to Leeds where Craig will meet me and then drive the relatively short journey on to Nottingham.

For him to drive to dad's and back down on the same day would have been too much.

I looked at a train directly from Glasgow to Nottingham. The journey would have taken me nearly 7 hours with 3 changes and an extortionate price.

Craig suggested the Leeds option. 3 hours. One change. £80 return.

I love trains. :D I've got my meal deal, magazine and Kindle.

Have a great day.

Don's been telling me he thought the weather was cooling slightly with it dropping back to 40 degrees but yesterday a new red heat alert was issued.
Looks like I chose the best time to duck out of southern Spain.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Lovely sunny morning with a brisk breeze 8-)

Safe travels Ally x

Not doing a lot today, Gez is coming up sometime for a gossip. It's been almost three weeks since she came back, but we'll still do our social distancing bit.

Will cook the potatoes for dinner this morning and then it's tuna salad for dinner.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, not too bad here, and no rain forecast which is a nice change. Sadly, there is no dancing in the park today due to our tightened restrictions :( but we are going to the park anyway. We’ll have a bit of lunch outside at the cafe and then have a walk, it’s a park we don’t know very well, and my sister might come and meet us as she lives quite near. Right, better tidy around and get in the shower.

Afternoon all :D

Started off nice and sunny, but it's a bit changeable now, one minute bright the next overcast. Still a tad windy too

Not a lot happening here, might get out to do a tidy up in the garden, all the wind has brought down a lot more palm tree leaves. Roast chicken and salad for dinner later, vanilla blancmange with lemon and lime jelly for pud.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Afternoon everyone :)

I expect you'll be in Nottingham by now Ally, hope you had a good journey :) xxx

Nice to catch up then Jan :D xxx

Sorry about your dancing Osc :( xxx

This weather makes a lot of mess, doesn't it Jen? xxx

Well, after an early start taking B to work, we went to B&Q - via Corretto's ;) - to pick up some replacement panels for D's greenhouse - it got slightly damaged by the storm last week. We also finally decided on the tiles and fittings for our en suite. We dropped the panels round to D's - Mick's going to fix them in during the week sometime - stayed for a cuppa, then came home. We decided to use the leftover chilli from yesterday for lunch - only this time with jacket potatoes and salad, rather than rice ;) I've just had a chat with Harry, and Mick's gone to collect B, as her shift ends at 4.15 8-) My hair colour needs doing, so I'm planning to do that this evening - this weekend seems to have flown by!

Love to all xxx

She was here for over two hours

Even though she's been back for almost three weeks, she refused to open doors, asked me to clean her seat after she'd gone and sat at one end of the table, with me at the other and it's almost 6ft 8-)

But a lovely catch-up and gossip :D

Got rather warm this afternoon, but we wandered down to David and Rita's, under the every watchful eyes of next door  :cute:

Dinner now done and it's the footie - didn't realise until about half an hour ago we can watch it on normal tv 8-)

We're in for a rather warm week, weather wise, so the menu will be adjusted accordingly ;)
