Jam labels

I have been searching for some nice jam labels to put on my jars and came across a really good website.

I have printed some off on plain paper and used pritt stick to stick them on my jars. It even gives you the ability to put your own photo on the label - although I decided against it as I thought it would be too small to see.

Here's the (almost) finished product - I just need to put some nice fabric over the lids. I will only do it with the ones that go as gifts, the others will just have little handwritten labels stuck on and no fancy lids!

As a jam maker I would love to receive a present of nice labels (a mix of lovely sticky labels and some brown luggage type labels), some lovely fabric to use on the lids and nice ribbon to finish it off, if thats any help to you.

definitely, thanks Debih. I often run out of ideas of what to give her. She's got everything she needs and I'm sure she'll appreciate something besides the usual earrings or books.

Sticky back A4 sheets are available from craft shops, and with a bit of work using popular software such as Word and downloading artwork, labels for jars can be made for little or nothing.

When I was a governor at my children's junior school we used to "sell" pitches for people to set up a stall and sell their wares on fund raising days..

One regular was a lady who made country jams. She used squares of different coloured gingham stretched over the the lids and then tied with that rough brown twine and brown card luggage labels printed - John Bull style - with the type of jam. Her labels were a bit rustic, but I bet that if she was still here she would be doing her own labels as I described above.
