Postby JanB » 02 Sep 2020, 06:00

Morning everyone

Cool start and there is huge grey cloud sat over us   Supposed to be quite warm later.

Off on a jolly later this morning. Jan and I are braving Castro Verde market  We're going in her new car :Hi: top down, ladies wot do   and hopefully my bankcard will have arrived, if not, it's a quick trip to the top end of town to the bank to get some money out.

Might do the Pingo run this afternoon. Might not.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all

had a lovely afternoon yesterday - the joys of a mobile office; lunch and a glass (or two) of wine with a friend, with laptop at the ready and phones next to me :D

Usual work morning today and then pootling at home; didn't do any cleaning yesterday so that's the plan for today.

Jan, enjoy the market and hope the bank card is there
Jen, I lose track, is today the day for E? If yes then thinking of you and hope all goes well
Cruiser, enjoy the pootling day
Saundra, enjoy the bright day - it's rather grey and cold here

Have a lovely day all x

Oh and to update re my friend... so she went in and apparently the boss wanted to speak to her about an appointment that should have been rescheduled but hadn't yet. My friend thankfully was able to point out that she told boss on Friday already that she was working her way through the calendar and shifting appointments but hadn't had a chance to do them all yet. He obviously wasn't listening at the time. She also put together a letter for him, summarising their discussion of a few weeks back and listing her grievances and gave him a printed hard copy as well as emailed it to him. So he really really cannot ignore the matter any more. Bully is now away for a few weeks which leaves my friend to work in peace and quiet and get on with the job

Good morning all, I had to think about what day it was for a minute or two there.

It’s been a busy week or so. Tom’s room has been decorated and there’s been the mother of all sort outs. There’re just a few boxes in the garage to sort through now, and decide what to keep and what to throw.
And just as I feel that the house is getting back to normal, we’re going to start decorating the main living room and the study this weekend.

We had a nice weekend away in Wales, staying at John’s Mom’s (might do a private post) and we spent time with his sister and her family and finally got to meet and cuddle the new baby!

Bit of a sad mood day here today, Amanda stayed last night and Joe was dropping her home on his way to work but she goes back to Falmouth on Saturday so we won’t see her again until Christmas :( It’s been lovely to spend time with her over the Summer and she’ll be very much missed.

Have a good day all :)

Morning all, almost

Bright and sunny here 8-)

E finally got picked up at 4am, he managed 5 hours sleep late afternoon/early evening so didn't bother to go to bed again. We've managed a couple of video calls this morning, he seems fine, lots going on with visits from the surgeon, anaesthetist and more blood tests. He's due to go into theatre around 12ish so any time now. Doubt it will be worth me phoning for news much before 5pm. My stomach is churning and because I stayed up all day until he went I'm feeling pretty tired. Think it's going to be a long day.

Hope you all gave a good day, stay safe xx

Fingers crossed for you and E, Jen. x
A nice morning here but it is clouding up a little now. We have been to Aldi and B&M and this afternoon will go and see FiL.
I hope your friend gets the resolution that she is looking for Ria.
Have a good day all.

Afternoon all, it was a dreadful day earlier but the rain has stopped now, although it is still windy. We had dental appointments this morning at 10.30 - Edward went in first, while I waited in the car, then the surgery phoned me to say that the waiting room was empty and I could go in. No problem for either of us, checkup, scale and polish, and we were home by 11am. I’ve made a batch of soup, and we’ve done our shopping list for tomorrow’s delivery. I need to hoover out the car which I’ll do at some stage this afternoon. We’re watching the Tour de France, France looks lovely and Edward just said it’s the first time he has felt the urge to go away somewhere!

That’s a very long day for you both, Jen, could you have a nap this afternoon? Hope it all goes well xx
