Good Morning Saturday

Postby JanB » 05 Sep 2020, 08:00

Morning everyone

Lovely, sunny and warm morning already, so another rather hot day 8-)

Bit of a late start, but done the watering and just having a coffee. Think the dusting and wafting the feather duster around can wait for a week ;)

Hope E and Jen both had a good night and there is some improvement for him xx

So, not a lot to be done today. Not cooking, still have a flan to finish off, and also to plan tomorrows starters and desserts. Daft ole bat that I am, I'm doing the starters and desserts for tomorrows meal at Jan and Joquinha's

A swim later and we'll have a stroll down to David and Rita's to check over their place and water our plants down there.

Have as good a day as you can everyone xx

Thanks both :)

We're on our way, but are taking it slowly as we can't pick up our key until 5pm. The dogs were getting restless, they knew something was going on, so we loaded up the car and have come down to the Quays for breakfast. We'll linger here, then take our time getting down to Devon 8-)

The weather is bright, and so is the forecast for the week, but autumn chill is in the air, so I've packed jumpers and jeans as well as more summery stuff, and we have our rain jackets and hoodies. So looking forward to the break 8-)

Enjoy doing not a lot Jan :D xx

Happy birthday Scarlett! :D xx

Thinking of Jen and E xxx

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all. Safe travels and a good holiday Kaz. :)
Enjoy the sunshine Saundra, it's grey and chilly here. Happy birthday Scarlett!
MrsC used to make bacon quiche Jan, I used to love them.
MrsC has gone with daughter and Eliza into Wakefield to do some shopping. They have left Dobby the dog here, who is currently enjoying a good roll around on the back lawn.
Pizza later.
Not much on today, buying a paper will be as exciting as it gets.
Have a good day all.

eta I hope E had a better night.

Morning all, mostly cloud and some sun here, with that autumn chill though. There is dancing in the park today instead of tomorrow, and a bit earlier too, so we will head out in just over an hour. In the meantime, I’m pottering around and Edward is getting the dinner ready so he won’t need to do too much when we get home.

Kaz, have a lovely holiday, and Jen, I hope E had a good night.

Morning all :D

Lovely, bright and sunny here 8-)

Happy Birthday Scarlett xx
Safe journey to Devon Kaz.

E's much happier this morning, he's even had a shave!! Still no news about his move, but I doubt many tests/scans get done over the weekend anyway. It's very frustrating for him as he's still in bed and wired up to goodness knows what and having regular blood tests etc, but thankfully for the first time since the op, apart from still feeling very tired, he's a bit more himself. Thank goodness for video calls, I've told him to ring as often as he needs to, it helps us both.

Bit more washing on the go, really need to start having a tidy up round the house, too many calls etc to get much done yesterday. I've not been eating particularly well so have popped a casserole in the slow cooker, always tasty and will do me for the next couple of days. Not getting as much sleep as usual either, hate going to bed on my own, rarely get off before 2am.

Hope you all have a good day, thanks for thinking of us xx

Hello all

Jen, so glad E is feeling and sounding a bit more himself and fingers crossed some of the wires can be removed soon and more importantly that he is either transferred somewhere closer or even come home very soon. Big hugs..... and just do make sure you take care of yourself as well please x

Jan enjoy the day
Kaz happy holidays; safe travels down to Devon
Crommers, enjoy the company of Dobby and then the pizza later on. Sounds like quite a perfect day to me ;-)
Saundra, happy happy 5th birthday to Scarlett; time is just flying by so fast

I had a super early start to the day - a friend is flying off to Greece for a weeks holiday so she's parked her car her and I've given her a lift to Heathrow. It's only 20 minutes or so from my house and saves a huge taxi fare for her. Got home and went back to bed for another hour but didn't really sleep just dozed. Off to another friends birthday this afternoon so all in all a lovely day. Oh and about to chop down a shrub that one of my cats is using as an escape route out of the garden. He's not mean to be out and he won't be happy - and no doubt be very determined to find another way out but I'll cross that bridge when I get to it.

Got the slow cooker on the go with more tomatoes. Went past the allotment this morning to see if there were any more ripe ones and see that the dreaded blight has hit; so tomorrow I need to harvest what there is and burn the plants; and cut down any foilage on the potatoes and hope they don't get affected. I just hope I can get some of those green tomatoes ripe, otherwise I'll be offering them to people so they can make chutney; I still have loads from last year and there is only so much one can eat / give away :D

Well have a lovely day all x
