Good Morning Sunday

Postby JanB » 13 Sep 2020, 07:03

Morning everyone

Cloudy start and it's been blowing a hooley since the early hours.

Molly isn't keen on the wind - too much noise going on - so although she wanted to go out at 4.00, as is normal - she decided to just sniff the air and is now still asleep

We had planned on a bbq today, but even though we're 5C cooler than yesterday, our district is on red alert for fires, so I rummaged in the freezer and found a lump of pork. So roast pork for dinner :Hi:

General pootling today, not a lot planned.

Any-one heard from Ally?

Hope our star patient had a good night and Jen was able to sleep too x

Osc, have a safe journey on your next adventure x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning Jan and all, it’s a sunny one here.

I’m just back with Bill, there were a lot of squirrels to chase today so he had fun. John had gone for a bike ride by the time I got back. I’m going to start by hoovering, haven’t been able to have a proper clean up with the decorating going on this last week but I can get all through the house done now. There’s some ironing to do too and I’ll prepare a chicken casserole. I’m not sure if we’ll have it at lunchtime or this evening, it all depends on what time John gets back and what we decide to do this afternoon.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all :)

Not since Wednesday, Jan. She's probably busy with stuff, I think work starts again soon, but I will message her later :) Roast pork, yum! I love it but it doesn't agree with me

It's great to be able to give the place a good clean after decorating, Jo 8-) I remember when we moved into the Egham house and everything needed doing! The plaster dust drove me nuts :cute:

I need to do some gardening later too Saundra, lots of weeds have come up in the last week, and my geraniums need sorting out xxx

It's a beautiful day here! We're sitting outside Corretto's, enjoying the autumn sunshine. I put the last of the holiday washing on before we came out - whites - and Becky will have that pegged out before we get back. She had to go back to the dentist's the other day, as she had a complication from the tooth extraction - something called dry socket - but they seem to have sorted it for her now. Lamb steaks for dinner later, with either veggies or salad - to be decided :)

Have a good day everyone :) xxx

Morning all; happy beautiful sunny Sunday!

Two loads washing done and on the line; shopping done and about to head to the allotment to do some clearing up and weeding and then back home for some work at home in the garden - so lovely in the sunshine! :)

Have a friend returning from Greece tonight; I offered to drop off when she left and am picking her up this evening around 10ish - LHR Term 5 is only 20 or so minutes from me so it really saves so much on taxi costs esp as Sunday 10pm would be an out of hours pick up fee. She's left her car here so it's really easy albeit a bit of a late night.

Have a lovely lovely day everyone! x

Good morning all!
Lamb steak Kaz, I love lamb! Ria, you are a good friend to have. Jan, Molly is a very smart cat! Jo, my friends dog used to love chasing squirrels too! It sent him loopy, his legs used to turn into springs, he just bounded along, loving it so much! Saundra we have good weather too. Not all that warm but lovely and sunny. It is supposed to warm up tomorrow too.
Busy day yesterday, relaxing today. Motor bikes on tv this afternoon but that's about it.
We knew it was going to be good weather tomorrow as sister in law goes on holiday tomorrow. Honestly she always gets good weather; if she went to Hull in Jabuary they'd have a heatwave.
Have a good day all.

Afternoon all, a gorgeous day here. We’ve been to the pub next door for late breakfast, Miss Osc and the children joined us - it was very hot sitting there  Usual family chaos with children involved but we all enjoyed it, other local people there too so plenty of chat going on. We are going dancing in the Park this afternoon and will head straight on to Wicklow after that, it will only take about an hour. Hope this weather holds on for the few days!

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny again 8-)

Honestly bemused at how quickly decisions change. Friday evening E was told bed exercise only, yesterday physio arrived and had him out of bed for a short time and he managed, with support, to stand on his operated leg. He was absolutely delighted, oh and and totally exhausted lol Hopefully they visit again today as promised. Of course that leg is now considerably shorter than the other so moving isn't easy, he'll need crutches until/if they feel it's safe to operate again.

I've popped a casserole in the slow cooker, it will last 2 days so that's my dinner taken care of. Not sure what I'm doing for the rest of the day, I keep finding little jobs to do, it's hard to relax properly.

Hope you all have a good day xx

I'm puzzled how can you move your leg if? it's not attached
To your hip

It's not easy Saundra. Obviously there's still muscle, but that only gives a bit of movement. Ultimately, without the replacement, he will be very restricted. The difference in length makes movement with crutches difficult, much as the thought of another op frightens me, I know he'll be terribly depressed if he's permanently disabled.
