Good Morning Friday

Postby JanB » 18 Sep 2020, 06:50

Moring everyone

Cloudy, cool, windy and wet ish ;) We had some rain last night and missed the thunderstorms  W could see all the lightening, further north, but we missed out :( Hoping for more rain today :D

Cleaning morning for me, no idea what Grumpy will be doing.

Picked up a box of books from a friend yesterday afternoon, so that's me sorted for a coupe of weeks :Hi: :Hi: There are some doubles of what we already have, so I'll take them down to the library.

Hope E continues to improve x and you both had a good night Jen xx

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Cool and grey here too Jan.
Ordered a bread maker on line yesterday - it won't be here for a month! I blame that Mary Berry.
The Rington's man is coming with the tea delivery soon and that's the height of the adrenaline pumping excitement here for today, lol!
Sister in law is back from her holiday in Scarborough today and we need to drop a cheque in to FiL's care home.
I noticed Sainsbury's was busier than normal yesterday - please, let's not go back to panic buying and empty shelves again! But a hysterical media seems determined to bring that about.
How is E, Jen?
Have a good day all.

Morning Jan and Crommers, morning all

Up early to take Thomas to college today; today is "enrichment" day where they spend the entire day doing a subject of choice, well if they got their choice that is. They could chose between Automotive, Business, Creative Media and Catering; and had to list three in order of preference. Business didn't have enough uptake so they replaced it with Child Care; not quite sure how they went from the one to the other buy hey ho.... thankfully Thomas got his first choice of automotive; he'd have died of boredom with any of the others!

Jan, glad you got some rain, but fingers crossed for more
Crommers, the panic buying is a bit of a worry isn't it. I thankfully have plenty yeast, so if anyone needs please let me know and I'll post some to you :D But don't have much in the way of breadflour so may get a bag or two of that; I need it anyway. Everything else will be fine as is ;-) Although may need to stock up on a bag of chicken food as that's really expensive to order online - hmmm
I had a bread maker but found it so so loud that I only used it a few times. I now just do it my hand - it's a good workout :D

Just spent 20 mins on the phone to my mom; she somehow managed to damage the plug for her phone so couldn't charge it. Managed to talk her through the assortment of cables she has and got it all back working. Trying to describe a UBS plug and then UBS cable with micro USB-C connections to someone who has no clue was fun - big square, small square rounded corners, plug with hole :D :D :D So mom happy and my brother owes me one!

Usual work and pootling for me - have a lovely day all x
About to head to the allotment to get some spinach for the chickens; haven't got any greens for them at home and don't fancy going to Sainsbury's in person so will do an online order.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

What make of breadmaker did you get Crommers? It's something I've often thought of buying, will be interested to hear how nice the bread is.

Yesterday didn't pan our as expected. E was told around lunch time he would be going home, lots of excitement. Sadly before the transport arrived his temperature spiked and he had to stay in. It's not as bad this morning, but still a bit up. They're doing lots of tests to check he hasn't got an infection and he's just been for chest xrays. I'd love to think he'll be home today, but it's not looking promising, we'll see.......

Expecting a toilet frame and stool for E to be delivered this afternoon, also a Sainsburys order. Apart from that and a bit of washing, not much else to do, the house is positively sparkling.

Hope you all have a good day xx

I've ordered a Panasonic 2501 Jen. When it gets here I'll post on how it goes. :)

Fingers crossed he gets home today Jen xx

You are lucky over there, having deliveries. We have nothing like that here. No supermarkets, nada.

I'm thinking of risking going into Pingo early on Sunday morning, to get fresh fruit, veg and a couple of other bits that they didn't have on Wednesday and then not bother for a couple of weeks.

By then, hopefully, things will have calmed down a little.

And we've had a couple of lovely, heavy downpours of rain :Hi: Might be letting water out of the pool later

Good afternoon everybody,

After breakfast, started washing. Have done some ironing. Have had a break for lunch and been to collect our cushions for the couch. Have had new foam
inserts. They are now much harder and do not squash down when we sit on them.

Have had a delivery which according to the tracking should only have been delivered later today.

Have a good d ay everybody.

Afternoon everyone :)

It's a beautiful early autumn day, so I walked into town and picked up a bit more good shopping - Chris is coming to see us tomorrow, and I always try to cook things I know he likes 8-) :) Since I got back I've been cleaning, and am now taking a break 8-)

Jan, I'm glad you got some book to read, and shopping early sounds a good idea, to miss any crowding 8-) That's what I tried to do during lockdown, but things are pretty calm here at the moment 8-) xxx

Ooh Crommers I would love a bread maker, but I would only end up eating too much of it - commercially baked bread is easier to resist   xxx

Ria, that made me chuckle   xxx

Jen, that must have been disappointing for you both :( I hope E is home very soon xxx

It's a lovely drying day here too Saundra :D xxx

Hope your delivery arrives Cruiser :) xxx

Love to all xxx

Afternoon all, it is a nice day here but with an easterly breeze which is making it chilly. I walked over to the golf club with Edward this morning and enjoyed my walk back. I caught up on some laundry, then went to meet a few of my gym friends for lunch at the pub next door, although I wasn’t at class today. Sorted more laundry when I got back and nothing else planned for the rest of the day.

Oh, forgot to say, my little premature grand nephew has finally come home, five months after his birth, albeit with oxygen for what they say will be a few months. So some good news :D
