Afternoon all, it’s fairly sunny here but breezy and chilly. I met up with some of my gym pals outside the pub next door this morning, we were in direct sunlight which was nice. An hour of catching up and putting the world to rights was good for the headspace. I also ordered our evening meal which I will collect around 5pm. Edward went to play golf and has just come back. Most of the ironing in the basket is summer clothing to be put away, so that can wait!

Kaz, I hope D’s sorted now. I’ve booked mine at Tesco this year rather than going to the GPs vaccination clinic. I’ve booked Joe in too as he’s also eligible for a free one and Tom’s school are arranging for staff to be vaccinated.

It used to be that the surgery held the clinics throughout September so I called in August to book (I always note it in my diary) and was told to call back in two weeks, then was told to call in another two weeks and the information when I called a week or so back was that they don’t have any idea when they’ll get the vaccine delivered for under 65s and are thinking it’ll be late Oct/early Nov when they hold the clinics for those.
They’ve been vaccinating the over 65s on Saturdays and Sundays for the last three weeks.

Afternoon everyone

Started off cloudy, then got windy, sun cam out, was lovely in the sun, but not in that wind

Had wifi problems, did all the normal stuff, ran out of ideas, so rang a friend, he wasn't a home, rang another one, he was in the middle of painting, come round later, he said. Rang eldest son (the computer whizz) and he couldn't help much

T hen first friend came round and 45 minutes later, with on-line (his on-line, not mine) we got it sorted. A plug in thingy on the side, which is supposed to help me get a better speed wasn't helping.

So I now owe two friends a beer or three

Eldest son just rang, to make sure everything okay and they've sold their house and moving to a 4 bed - well, you do when there's only three of you at home, instead of five

Have a lovely time with your niece Ria xx

Hope Jen has news for us x

Spoiling us with chicken breasts wrapped in presunto, roast potatoes, garlic mushrooms, broccoli and green beans.

Enjoy the rest of the day everyone xx

I asked about our jabs when in the chemist last week as I wanted to check that we could get it for free - we wouldn’t have to pay at the doctor’s. So the chemist checked his paperwork and confirmed that it would be free for us. It would have made no sense to go to the doctor’s surgery when we could just walk up the street to the chemist. I was there again today and he came out to make sure they have my number as they will start making appointments next week probably.

Oh that’s not good! I hope you’ve managed to sort it by now.
With Tesco I went online and picked a time and location, selected the NHS jab option, filled out some details and ticked a box to give the pharmacy permission to access my records, submitted it and got a confirmation.

How annoying - Tom went to our local chemist yesterday to get his annual jab (necessary as he works with vulnerable people) only to be told they had used up their allowance and weren't doing them any more, they directed him to Asda! I'm disappointed as I always get my flu jab at the chemist, I didn't think it was nearly time yet!
