I thought about it long and hard, and have put the T&T app on my phone, and also on D's phone as she asked me to. In other news Becky's colleague, friend and lift to work Holly is self-isolating as her brother has symptoms and is awaiting a test result. Watch this space :? He's school-age so hopefully it's just a cold

Well done, Kaz, it will be interesting to hear how you get on with it!
I asked Master O if he was going to put it on his, and his response was no way, given the environment he works in, it would never stop going off!

As an aside, I understand his MiL is very poorly at the moment, with all the symptoms.
She has had the test (had to travel to Bexhill for it, after they'd first offered her Newport, South Wales - this from Eastbourne  ) and is, like Holly's brother, awaiting results.

I wish her much better soon Ossie, and how ridiculous it is, expecting someone with a potentially fatal virus to travel across the country :? xxx

I haven't got the track thing because I don't have a phone it's a bit pointless if you are expected to travel miles to a test centre with no transport or are elderly
Just gives you unnecessary stress I'm my opinion

Hold on Os, surely people should be directed away from Newport...isn’t it under local lockdown?

Oh, and I’ve not downloaded the app. Not sure if it’s going to drain my battery, it’s bad enough anyway.

I have just spoken to Vodafone for help. Phone is Android 6.1.0

I do not have a data package, calls and text only, so need to upgrade because the app needs Internet access - no thanks.

If I upgrade I have to have Bluetooth Low Energy features, Wi-Fi and GPS or location services turned on - with my battery life!?

The download is 5.6MB and I only have 4.31MB left and all the apps are pre-loaded so I would need to root the phone to move them to SD card. The NHS app 'prefers' to be on internal / system storage to work fully.

My spare phone is always in the car and always on charge but it is so old it will not even download the app.

Having researched it, I believe it would work on my Apple mobile if I downloaded it although the phone's a few years old now.
I hadn't thought about the battery life angle though, and that's a very valid point .....
