I know that many of you use it so please take note.
I have received a landline phone call telling me that my Amazon Prime account is to be updated at a cost of £79.99 and to press...... you get the drift.
As I don't have a Prime account I just dropped the call.
According to Action Fraud you should not press any number or engage in any way with this scam, simply go directly to Amazon Prime via a known Internet address and login to your account to check its status then work from there.
Apparently just putting the phone down does not kill the call.... so a few tips from around the web. Pick your phone back up and try to ring a random number, a local shop etc - do not phone your own mobile or any family and friends. If you get answered just apologise and say you got a wrong number. Then use your mobile to phone your own landline and say "Hello" to yourself. Both methods should kill the scam call if it is still open.
