Good morning Thursday

Postby Ally » 26 Nov 2020, 05:43

Good morning.

It was forecast to start raining at 6pm yesterday. The rain duly arrived at 6.05. Can't be Spanish rain as they're never on time!

Rain forecast on and off for most of today. It's very much needed and we'll make the most of it as it's back to sunny and dry tomorrow.

Work for me as usual then home to chilli con carne, tacos and a sour cream dip. That man is getting good in the kitchen.

That and MasterChef = happy bunny.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Glad you've got some rain Ally; not very much by the sounds of it, but still - better than nothing. Chilli con carne with accompaniments sounds delicious; enjoy

A cold but dry start to the day here. Doing a bit of work then going to head out for a few minutes to pick up something down the road; back for a noon conference call and then heading out for the afternoon to a garden centre for some Christmassy stuff. Nadine and I tried going on the weekend but the queue was beyond bonkers so we turned around and came home. I'm happy to go shopping with masks on etc but no way could there by any social distancing in place with that amount of people there; so we are going to try this afternoon and hope it's quieter.

I've got tomorrow off which I'm quite pleased about Not that I'm overworked by any stretch of the imagination but I am obviously restricted to being at home by my computer or take my laptop wherever I go. So officially taking time off means that whilst I'm reachable on my mobile I get a break from said laptop ( but can get back home within a certain time period for anything super urgent if it's needed). Odd times so no-one is really able to take a complete break, but I'm not going to complain; I still have a job and am very grateful for that.

Have a lovely day all x

A chilly morning here today.
Kevin the plumber / gasman is fixing our boiler. It is more than ten years old and a couple of rubber washers have perished, leading to a leak.
Hopefully it won't be off for too long!
MrsC and her sis are going to B&M for a few bits.
Is it today that we get the joyful news on what sort of "tier" we are going to be bunged into? What fun.
Have a good day all.

Morning all, it’s dull and cold here. Supermarket delivery due this morning and we will have Michael and Kellie later on. That’s it for my day!

Morning everyone

Dull, grey and cold. Dry though.

No internet this morning, but played around with different things and here I am :Hi:

Bit of a shocker, in that a very local person has covid, her brother uses the bar, was there yesterday, as were we. So we're going to play it safe and stay here for a couple of weeks. Means we miss lunch tomorrow and I won't be going to the doc's over the week-end, but better be safe.

Also Mitchell has been in hospital with breathing problems, unrelated to the pandemic, but he discharged himself after two days and nights being in a chair, as the place was rammed.

As it's such a cold day, we'll stay inside and I'll make a curry for Saturday.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all..........almost

Dull and overcast here.

Hope you get the credit card sorted Saundra.
Gosh Jan, that is a bit too close for comfort. Sensible to stay where you are for a couple of weeks, definitely better safe than sorry.

We're in Tier 3, will have to check all the rules. I missed my last hair appointment and Jo has booked me in for 15 Dec, not sure if it will happen now. Just seen a Fb message from The Racing Greyhound saying due to the latest news they must stay closed for the time being. I do hope they survive losing all their Christmas trade, it's a lovely local pub.

Not doing too much today, delivery from Sainsburys this afternoon. Will be more difficult to put away than most weeks, they're doing 25% off 6 bottles of wine again. I've ordered 12 bottles of Freixenet, it's usually £11, but at the moment it's on offer at £8 so with the 25% it comes right down to £6 too good a bargain to miss.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all!

Day off today, so drove to Durham City as is my usual haunt on Thursdays nowadays.... Popped into Cafe Nero to get a takeout coffee and a mince pie (my first of the season) and took it up to the cathedral grounds to sit and admire the views and the peace. Didn't happen - there's a gurt big COVID testing marquee set up on Palace Green with the LOUDEST generator ever!! Ended up walking further away and found some peace! Lovely mince pie too!

Since then I got petrol, a quick pop in Tesco and Lidl and back to finish the h/work. Bed changey day, and I washed the cushion covers as well. Sharked upstairs and the mattress....oh and I have put the fleecey underblanket on the mattress today as it's got to be minus this week!

Jen we are also in Tier 3 :(

Stay safe all xx
