Many, Kaz?

According to government figures the average for mixed race (diverse) families is below 2%. For other types of diversity it is about 1%.

If you were arriving from outer space and had been monitoring UK TV and the press and magazines (via the Internet) you would be led to believe that he UK was diversity Utopia - then you arrive and things are so much different. It is the alternative reality and its presentation that irks so many people.

It is not that the silent majority are against inclusivity, we are quite happy with it, but if we push back against the way it is being portrayed we are labelled as Luddite monsters and closet racists. The danger is that if people are continually told they are racists then some will say "Sod it, I might as well go the whole hog." I will not be one of their number, ever, but I do accept that some will be tempted. It is a very dangerous game to be playing IMHO.

Without a doubt; and possibly worse, because of all the unrelenting "woke noise" out there, the rise in closet -isms and -phobias won't be realised until they metaphorically start biting bums.

And here is the problem about these beliefs. When the Asian gentleman from Tesco legal asked if he could sit at my table for Lunch, then launched into his diatribe about diversity and his chances to get on the board, he was extremely disgruntled when I gave him the figures.

Out of the Black, Asian and M/E population, his "diversity" community had an 18% "right" to a place on the board. Of which that would be 9% male and 9% female. So for every 22 board members he could have some hope of getting a position. But as Black is the "majority" diversity member in the country, he could expect to have a shot at a position on the board directly after the first black woman and black man.

He went away entirely disgruntled. Refusing my offer of him getting his place on the board via merit alone. Where he had exactly the same chance as everyone else.

He seemed to think this was totally unreasonable and not "diverse" enought.

For diversity read "biased" towards him.

This is the entire attitude that WM is worried about. Personally the adverts annoy me. That totally ensures I will never listen to an advert, never buy or shop based on an advert and will actively avoid any organisation which pushes this kind of inequality.

If everyone else did the same, there would be a very short sharp change to the whole "diversity" movement.
There are 10 types of people in the world:
Those who understand Binary and those who do not.
