... or whatever they call it. Has anyone else had experience of this being rolled out?
BT Openreach have been happily bumbling around the local estates our side of town for the last three weeks or so putting in (or replacing) underground cabling along existing "routes" from the green junction boxes to presumably some sort of central underground hub / station in each road. So there's one up our road. But this cabling isn't all the way to the house and the last 50 - 100 yards remains the old 1990's copper cabling wot we've always had.
So:
1) Will it actually speed things up or not, given the last bit remains old technology, and
2) (As someone told me over the weekend) do BT charge you an eyewatering sum if you then ask them to run it up to the house?
Anybody know?
