Good morning Thursday

Postby meriad » 10 Dec 2020, 08:22

And a merry morning to you all - hope everyone is keeping as well as can be :)

Another dull day here but quite a bit warmer than has been which makes a pleasant change.
Not much to report this end - usual work and usual pootling. Need to get some grocery shopping done and that's about it.

Hope you all have a lovely day x

Morning Ria, morning everyone

Grey and wet here, not too cold though.

We're off to Ourique later, to do the normal runaround and then I have to call into Jan's and also seeing the doctor about my heart problem later this evening.

Some very sad news to start the day, Bertalina, who lived near the bar, died early this morning. She was into her 90's, but still so sad, a lovely, lovely lady. The funeral will either be later today or tomorrow.

Later on, when there's more time, I'll tell you about my last couple of days

Have a good day everyone ,whatever you're doing xx

Morning all. I’m not at work today. Hurrah.

I’m putting the Xmas tree up. We have always had a real tree as our main tree but this year at the last minute decided to go artificial (mainly because the place we get our tree from isn’t doing them this year). It arrived yesterday so I’m going to attempt to assemble and decorate it. So that will probably take up most of the day!

Good morning all.
We're doing a grocery shop too Ria. We are getting a few items for Sergio, he has a bad chest and can't really go out.
I hope the funeral goes as well as these thing can Jan.
Debih, we've had our tree up for a while; much earlier than usual. Beause it's been such a bad year I think we wanted something cheerful in the house.
Have a good day all.

Afternoon all, it is quite a nice day and mild too. I was out early as I had to return something I bought yesterday. Then when I got back, I changed the bed. The supermarket shop arrived while I was out, and Edward also made our first batch of mince pies. Having lunch soon, then I will collect Kellie from school and Michael will arrive an hour after that.

Morning all :)

Dull and overcast.

Hope the funeral goes well Jan.

Our tree went up in time for 1st Dec Debih. Like Crommers, we just wanted a bit of sparkle in our lives after this last year. Like you we always preferred a real tree, but three CHristmas's ago I was in a wheelchair and couldn't help with the decs so we decided it wasn't really feasible anymore. Of course it didn't help E insisted it should be 7ft tall  Anyway we ordered one from John Lewis and it's lovely, I even managed to sort it on my own this year.

Crommers I ordered the Flexiseq from Amazon yesterday and it arrived this morning, great service. They only had 50g tubes so dearer than Voltarol, but I'm hoping it works as I'd rather use something drug free.

The bin men have emptied the food caddy, but the rest of the recycling hasn't been collected yet, fingers tightly crossed it doesn't start to rain before they get here. Not much else happening, I've popped a casserole in the slow cooker so dinner's taken care of.

Hope you all have a good day xx

This is really early for us Crommers - I don't even usually start to think about decorations until 18th December, mainly because we have a real tree and I am reliant upon Mick fetching it and putting it up.

However, I was so stir crazy during my two weeks isolation I put most of the decorations up on 1st December - the lights around the mantlepieces and the tat tree (the one I have in the dining room that is full of the girls decorations that they have either made or brought over the years which are so gory they aren't allowed anywhere near the lounge tree). But, now I have an artificial tree I am not dependent on Mick fetching a real one so I think our decs will go up earlier next year.

I'm quite pleased with this tree. Its 7 foot and pre lit. The lights are a yellow warm glow light and all the strings of lights I have are white - I would like more lights on it but they didn't look right. Next year I will be organised and buy some lights to suit the tree. It is on my calendar in October to remind me!!

That is sad Jan - the pub won't be the same without her shuffling about saying hello. Condolences to her family

Rather damp again. Family only allowed into the cemetery, but short service was held outside, all of us with umbrellas up.

Shopping done, the last of the cards posted and I'm not going to do anything else today. Just warm up the stew I made the other day.

Our tree and figurines won't go up until next week.
