Good morning Monday.

Good morning.

Crispy cold. There is frost on the grass in the front garden. Frost is non existant in our part of Spain so it's lovely to see.... it's really pretty.

Sis is due to take her hire car back on Thursday then get a flight down to Luton to meet Mark then drive to the euro tunnel. At the moment this is all up in the air so today I think I'll be making sis soothing cups of tea.

Watching the news and reading stuff online it's like the world has gone mad. Completely and utterly mad. :o

Wishing you all a good day.

Good morning Al and all :)

It’s pouring down here so no walk for Bill yet, Joe’s in work and has texted me to say that he’s had a notification about a parcel being delivered around 8am anyway so we’d have had to rush back anyway. John’s just left to go on a site visit, he’ll be back early afternoon as he’s only had to go to JCB in Uttoxeter.

Al, I love to see frost. My favourite mornings for walks on the common are frosty ones. I hope that things work out for Michele and Mark, it’s all such a worry :o

Have a good day all and stay safe xx

Morning everyone

A gorgeous morning, sun is out, butt he ground is soaking wet. No rain, so it's hard dew or maybe a little frost.

Very hard to know what to do Ally. Portugal has banned every-one, bar citizens and resident, from flying in from England. Think we should shut everything and everyone down for at least three weeks and hopefully, that will sort it out.

Washing to be done this morning and stripping the chickens. Not my favourite job.

Happy birthday to your eldest son Saundra x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Happy birthday to your eldest Saundra.
A damp and dismal dark morning here. Is today the shortest day of the year?
MrsC's covid test came back negative.
Off for a paper and to get some money from the atm (hopefully anyway, it wasn't working the other day).
Then putting Eliza's prezzies together ready for Friday.
That's about it.
Have a nice day everyone.

Morning all :)

Wet and miserable here

Hope your sister manages to sort things Ally.

We're up extra early, we've decided to drive to Canterbury Hospital this morning to collect E's adapted shoe. It has to be collected by Wednesday or wait till after Christmas, might just as well be today. Expecting a Sainsbury's delivery this afternoon, only two items missing, not a problem.

Hope you all have a good day, stay safe xx

Morning all (just)

A busy one today - off to Sainsbury's just after 7am and it was heaving. But no queue to get in so I just got on with it. I was doing some shopping for myself, but mainly the weekly shopping for my neighbour who usually has home delivery but not a single slot to be had this week so I offered to go in person for her. And whilst there I picked up a Turkey Crown for another friend - she also couldn't get a slot and because three of the four in their household have other medical conditions going to a full shop in person isn't an option for them so were facing Christmas Day lunch having just veg. Managed to get it all done and distributed as needed.

More general pootling today. Meant to be off work this week but got a few things to keep an eye on

And then keeping a close eye on travel restrictions from South Africa. My brothers youngers daughter who lives in Germany flew back to SA to spend Christmas with the family and is due to come back just after Christmas; and their eldest daughter and her husband and their son are due to emigrate from SA to The Netherlands on the 27th December. Both girls are anxious that their respective flights are going to be cancelled; which is a potential nightmare. So fingers crossed all works out and they can get to where they need to be. Carissa (the younger daughter) was really torn about heading to SA in the first place, but she's had a tough year in Germany and just needed to be with her mom and dad and have a parent hug

Ally as you say - the world has gone totally mad :( Hope Mark and Michelle manage to get home OK
Saundra, happy birthday to your eldest
Jan, I agree - they need to close all borders and get people to stay where they are. At this rate 2021 is just going to be a repeat of 2020!
Crommers, excellent news re MrsC's test
Jen, hope the trip to Canterbury went OK

Have a lovely day all, stay warm and safe xxx

It’s a nightmare for people who need to travel Ria. I know an Australian family locally, they’d sold their house and were planning to move back to Aus back in April this year but have been unable to. They’ve finally been able to book flights to return in early January but now that’s been thrown into doubt.

I hope your family aren’t disrupted x

Oh crikey Ria, hope the flights go ahead.

Been a lovely sunny morning, so we went outside and weeded the veg plot. Far too wet, really and we got covered in wet soil, but very satisfying :D I also had a wander around and pulled up some weeds on the "lawn".

Afternoon all, it’s a fairly dreary day here. I set out early to go to a shopping centre, the car park was busy but otherwise it was fairly ok. Didn’t get everything I wanted, but I’m finished now, just two hampers to collect from the pub next door. I want to pop up to the post office to get some money, and will do some ironing.
