Good morning Christmas Eve Thursday

Postby Ally » 24 Dec 2020, 06:27

Good morning.

Considering it's December and Scotland I'm very happy with the weather.

I booked a tesco online delivery and it's coming at 9am. :Hi:

Dad wants a roast chicken with all his favourite veg for Christmas dinner so that's what we're having. :x

Even though I'm away from home and my men the festive spirit has kicked in. 8-)

My dear sister has made us both huge Santa sacks filled with presents.
A couple of gifts have arrived from Spain. Don posted them not long after I'd booked to come over to make sure they were here. Good man.

My gifts are ready and wrapped for my lot under the Spanish tree.

My cousin Ryan and uncle Stanley are coming over today. We'll chat by the gate. :D

Have a great day. X

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Cool and cloudy this morning and not going to be a warm day

Grumpy is going to light the fire this morning, to see how it goes. Unheard of, him lighting a fire in the morning - we normally have to put extra layers on

Ironing and floor washing for me. Well, down on my hands and knees, scrubbing the kitchen floor. Then make the stew for Saturday.

We might pop down to the bar, check the post, later this afternoon. We've not any post this week and I'm expecting a couple of parcels, as well as more cards. No doubt they'll turn up in February :x :x

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all, it’s a nice morning here although it looks cold. Cleaning for me today while the chef is doing food prep in the kitchen, and I will also be kitchen porter and general washer up. I’ll be setting the table later for tomorrow, seven of us, should be fun.

Morning all. Lovely here.

Mick and Lucy are both at work so I’m pottering doing last minute bits. I’m going to do the ham later and prep a lasagne for dinner tonight. Mick will do the veg for tomorrow later.

I’ve got to drop a couple of presents off this afternoon and call into work to pick up a prize I won (a bottle of Moët) from a competition the GP’s were doing. This year has been so rubbish at work and we’ve had none of our usual social events so along with a hamper, a bottle of fizz and a voucher from the partners they’ve been putting together Christmas quiz’s for us all. I won the guess who’s Christmas tree photo competition. There were five different quizzes (over both sites) and the winner of each gets a bottle of Moët. They’ve made the last week feel quite festive for us. We’ve also had the huge barrage of gifts from patients.

The post does seem to be running a bit late Cruiser. That's nice Debih; always good to be appreciated.
Good morning all. We're almost ready for Christmas. It will be a quiet day for us tomorrow, just us and sister in law. We are dropping Eliza's presents off tonight.
We just need some potatoes and it would be nice to get a good quality pork pie. MrsC has made some delicious mince pies; they won't last long.
Have a good day all.

Merry Christmas Eve everyone!!! :D

Ally, it sounds as though you will have a great Christmas with your dad! Good on Don for sending the pressies :)

Well we're taking advantage of the last day to eat out, and are having lunch at Corretto's, before we go into Tier 3 on Boxing Day  I was up early cleaning and tidying as I always do on Christmas Eve morning, and will make a trifle tonight, but otherwise I'm all sorted and ready :D I'm starting to find my inner elf, it's just taken a bit longer this year  :x

Enjoy your day everyone, and Merry Christmas!! xxxx

Morning all :)

Lovely, bright and sunny here 8-)

Don't overdo it Jan.
Well done on winning the bubbly Debih.
You can't beat home made mince pies Crommers. I used to make dozens when the children were young, these days E and I make do with M&S, not quite the same but a good substitute.

I received a letter from our surgery yesterday to say my annual diabetic review is due. They've put me in for an appointment with the diabetic nurse on 20 January. I need a blood test a few days before, it's usually done in surgery, but this time I've got to make an appointment at our local hospital. I went online to book and the dates on offer only go up to 6th Jan so will have to remember to sort it next week. Because of lockdown my 3 monthly tests haven't happened so I'm a bit worried, with all that's gone on this year I've not always kept to my strict diet. I haven't gone mad, but who knows, fingers tightly crossed, I really don't want to be put on meds.

Nothing planned for today, a bit of a whiz round with the dyson and that's it.

Hope you all have a good day, just one more sleep to go :D :D :D

Jen I'm sure drs will take into account the lockdown and it's effects and you can refuse meds and when the pressure is of use from this virus get back into a former routine
