Good Morning New Years Eve

Postby JoM » 31 Dec 2020, 08:06

Good morning all, I wish this snow would do one! The estate roads and footpaths are treacherous.

Plans for today are to take the trees down and get the house back to normal.

Steak for dinner tonight and there’s a Pavlova in the freezer (back up pudding from Christmas Day in case the choc mousse didn’t work out).

Happy New Year to you all xx

Morning Jo, morning everyone

Frosty start, so stayed in bed  Warming up to 13C later, if we're lucky

Somehow or other, the fire stayed in, so we've got some warmth in the house this morning :D

Curry making this morning and this afternoon, I'll do the prep for dinner. Making chicken and chickpeas, with berrichone potatoes and taking them, once partly cooked, down to Jan's for our evenings gathering. Only five of us, as Joaquinha is working. We'll have to leave by 10.30, as the curfew starts at 11.00 for the next four nights.

Happy New Year everyone, let's hope it's a healthy one xx

Good morning you two

Enjoy getting the house back to normal Jo. My decorations don't come down until the 6th of January and once they're down I at first love having the space back but soon miss all the pretty things. I love all my Christmassy things and am always sorry that they're only used for those few weeks in a year

Jan, enjoy your evening. What are berrichone potatoes?

Well I'm about to head off and have two tyres replaced on my car; been meaning to do it for ages. Will brave Sainsbury's on the way home and see if I can get a few things for dinner tonight that Nadine couldn't get yesterday. I'll be heading over there about 5ish for a 6pm early raclette dinner. I'll probably come home to see the new year in vs staying at theirs. What with it not raining (yay!!!) I worry that we'll have loads of fireworks so want to be home and make sure the animals are all OK.

It's rather nippy out there, the pond has frozen over, first time this winter season; thankfully just a thin layer so easy enough to break through.

Well have a lovely day all, stay warm and safe xxx

Whole potatoes, cooked in bacon bits, onion (I also add garlic) and veg stock. The top half gets lovely and crispy, then you have the tasty soggy ish bottom :D Gert lush :Hi:

Good morning all.
Yes Ally, it will be much warmer en Espana! No ice there.
Unlike here. The road outside is frozen and we may get more snow this afternoon.
Eliza is here so it will be a busy day.
Later we will have to go to the supermarket. We unaccountably seem to have run out of wine; this is obviously the work of a poltergeist.
Have a good day all.

Good morning on the first day of our new lockdown. It is bright, frosty and very cold, -1  Today is shopping delivery day, hopefully it will all arrive this week unlike last week. Then I’ll finish the ironing I started yesterday. We are never bothered about New Year’s Eve, not sure what we’ll do tonight - go to bed and let 2020 see itself out, or stay up and kick it out the door!! The car insurance expires at midnight but the new disc hasn’t arrived yet even though I renewed in plenty of time. I don’t need to use the car until next Wednesday so if it doesn’t arrive tomorrow I’ll give them a ring, no doubt it is still caught up in undelivered Christmas post.

Morning all :)

Jo, mine are coming down today, and I'll be cleaning round - I have a real urge to start the New Year with a clean sweep :? 8-)

Enjoy your evening Jan :D

We're braving Sainsbury's later too Ria  Enjoy your evening with K and N :)

Hope you sort that poltergeist out Crommers! :x

It's very frosty and cold here today - it does look pretty though :) As mentioned today is shopping, then taking down the devs and cleaning. We might stay up for New Year, if only to make sure that 2020 has bu**ered off!.

Happy New Year everyone :) xxx

Morning all. Lovely and sunny here. But very cold.

I’m off today - hurrah - and am just about to venture into town for a few bits. Then home to not do very much.

My decs are coming down on Monday.

Good afternoon everybody.

Had more snow during the night. Took nearly an hour to clear it off the car and drive.
Just relaxing now.
Will have to go shopping tomorrow.

Havea good day and New Year's eve if you can.
