I needed a few things that would have required a drive out to various shops, and I am not keen on that at the moment.

First stop Amazon, as you do, and everything was there, but as the order did not come to £20 there would have been delivery to pay. This made them about the same price as in the shops just without the hassle, so I though to try eBay.

Ebay had the same items from the same manufacturers, often at lower prices, and all with free delivery so I placed my order. With that I went browsing for some other items just out of interest and it was the same with virtually everything.

Given that Amazon has this reputation for low prices this surprised me and I know where my first stop will be for the future.

to add that I have used ebay for a few things, but don't think to check on everything I look at on Amazon.... I'm spoilt with my next day prime deliveries :oops:

If always used eBay for years look for free delivery never had a problem
Now I seem to get more of Amazon
Because I have Prime it has alot of
More convenient features I get free books don't use any other features like music and films plus I know when things arrive and I can track them

Thank you Ria, that's ever so kind. but think of this:

I give you the order for Amazon and it goes to your place. You then forward it to me - via post or courier. I then go to the Post Office to send you the cash and a card (recorded delivery) and we're all done.

But......

Think of all that work, and the hours, and the product miles, and the CO2, and the deforestation (card and envelope), and you waiting in and signing for the same - and all for three tubes of Palmolive shaving cream I could have got in Wilko if I could have been @rsed to go there. :roll:

Same here Ria, and the post takes so much longer (even pre-Covid as we don’t get a very good service around here). With Prime you can get certain things the same day. I needed a new screen protector for my phone last weekend. I ordered them (a pack of 3 for £4.99, the same price as EBay) on Sunday morning and they were delivered just after 6pm that evening.

I think we pay £7.99 a month (?) and it’s worth every penny IMO as we get several deliveries per week between us, subscribe and save is excellent (for instance, I’ve scheduled a delivery every 3 months of a 12kg bag of Bill’s food for around £25 when Pets At Home charge £10 for 2kg, the only local stockist and the only size the stock. It’s worth £7.99 a month not to have to visit the retail park where PAH is :lol:

). And there’s always something we want to watch on Prime, or music to listen to.

Then there’s the fact that I can back up all of the photos that I have on my phone onto the unlimited Prime photo storage.

Not knocking it peeps, it's just that I am not addicted to online shopping and I certainly do not get enough stuff to warrant eight quid a month for deliveries. And I am patient....

No, I'd have it sent directly to your house and I can either store your card on my account and use it for payments or you transfer the money into my account - if you have online banking that is? Definitely no double posting involved; that would defeat the object ;-)
