Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 22 Jan 2021, 07:25

Good morning.

Forecast beautiful again and 18 degrees.

I'm off for a good long walk. :D

Back to happily pootle.

Two private classes 4.30 - 6.30 except my first student can't make it as he lives in the next village, no travelling between here and there unless you have a justificante...which his parent forgot to get from their local police.

Meeting Don, get some shopping from Mercadona then home to a few beers in the kitchen and a zoom call with the boys. :cute: :cute:

Have a great day.

Oh and dad quite happily accepted his right on the stroke of midnight Tesco delivery.

Good job he's a late goer to bed.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Dry at the moment and the sun is out, but wet stuff is forecast for the rest of the day, Wind dropped too :D

Cleaning morning for me, hope to get the floors done before the rain starts, I like to have the windows open, it dries quicker  Other than that, not a lot. Eggs will come up and hopefully, the car will be back today too :Hi:

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all.

I’m having a nightmare of a day and it’s not quite 9am!!!

I was up at 6.30 to go into work. I’m doing overtime to do Covid stuff so can come and go as i please in those days. I made my usual breakfast if boiled eggs - and dropped them. Fed the dog who was then sick just inside the back door (I was getting dressed so didn’t see her to let her out). Sat in my car for 20 minutes trying to get it to de ice and then it just stopped and wouldn’t start again. I assumed it was the battery though mick has since said it’ll be the immobiliser playing up and that it’ll start again once it’s been locked and unlocked. So I decided to walk and get the bus. Not realising there was black ice all over the lane - until I fell and hurt my back and bum.

So now I am back home, in my pj’s.

I intend on watching tv and crocheting all day. And sulking and feeling sorry for myself.

Morning all

Debih; what a start to the day - poor you :( Hope you have a nice cuppa and some biscuits to help you recover. And a warm water bottle for the back!
Jan, fingers crossed for the car and also that you get done what you want before the rain starts
Ally; do your students have the ability to do zoom calls instead of face to face teaching; for the private lessons that is? May make it easier / safer for you as well not having to go in?

Blue skies and frost on the roof - my favourite kind of winter morning. Usual work day for me with a few things to be done around the house. I was going to head to town today as I need to get to Superdrug for some bits and bobs (can't seem to find what I'm looking for on their website) and also to Wilko for some seeds for the allotment but have had a few things come up workwise so will now go tomorrow.

Have a lovely day everyone; stay warm and safe xxx

Ria... we have all students details, email addy, etc to do zoom.

If we're told we can't open the academy we're good to go.

The students really enjoy coming to classes as they like the 'normality' as do us teachers.

As to the student today.... if mummy can't get her butt into gear to get the justificante in time, (and she's had a week to do it) then frankly, too bad as if the time comes and we do have to zoom, then today they missed their slot as they'll be done in the hour that they would have been taught.

Morning all :)

Ally I'm glad the delivery worked out after all :) xxx

Hope you get the car back today Jan :) xxx

Oooh ouch, Debih, what a morning! I hope your day improves (((x)))

Have a good one Ria, we have the same weather thankfully, after the endless rain! xxx

Early start here as Mick is dropping B into work while she's on the early shifts. She's getting lifts back, thankfully! Also the little car needed dropping in for its MOT by 8.30. The garage is only ten minutes walk away, so I started getting us some breakfast ready while he was out. He's staying in today, waiting for the garage to ring, and for the delivery of our new Sky box. He rang them to cancel as with our BT box and Britbox, Netflix etc we really don't use it much, but they offered a half-price deal and a new box so we took it   I'll be going out for my walk and to see D. My scatter cushions covers are in the wash, but otherwise I've got my cleaning and ironing all done.

Have a good day everyone xxx

Jan, rather than trying to clear your very hard and stoney ground; can Grumpy not make some raised beds with the pallets you said you had? They don't have to be high at all; just deep enough for the spuds. Or grow them in tubs with the bottoms cut out instead? I'm sure you'd be able to get your hands on some of the large cooking oil tins? Just thinking that may make it easier for you

It's very soft down on the veggie plot Riaa - we've been using sheep manure, horse manure and compost we've been making for the last few years. We've picked it over many times and it's stone free, virtually now.

He's cleaned it all up, ready. But the rain is here now, so it will have to wait.

I took a pork pie out of the freezer for him, as a reward   He'll have a small beer with it ;)
