Have attracted widespread ridicule by naming some roads in the Perry Barr district to be very "woke".
The council called six new streets:-
Diversity Grove,
Equality Road,
Destiny Road,
Inspire Avenue,
Respect Way and
Humanity Close.

I was hoping for Equality Street, but no chance.

Years ago when Tony Blair was in power I joked that one day it would be a criminal offence to dislike anyone, for any reason.
And also said as a joke that one day our dreadful cruel old fashioned pub name like "The Hare and Hounds" would be changed to the Jolly Nice Social Worker.

Trangender Terrace
Equality Street

Ethnicity Road

Speaking in December, Coun Waseem Zaffar, Birmingham's Cabinet Member for Transport and Environment, said the six street names "captured the essence of Perry Barr and indeed the city of Birmingham as a whole."

..... which was one of the reasons I was keen to move out of the place four years ago. Not the city I was brought up in, and certainly not a City I ever want to live in. Mrs O had years of it working alongside Birmingham City Council; I'm sure you probably found the same up in Wakefield, Crommers.

Otley, a local town, has Gay Lane with a fish 'n chip shop. It does battered sausages - just saying.

Re Birmingham. The woke and SJWs will be queuing up to move in to the Inclusive Grange area. At least us normal ones will now know who and where they are and be able to avoid them.

It's a win-win.

Our village has a Cock Lane (yes, really!) and nearby we have a Grime Lane, a Hell Lane and a Swine Lane!

Perhaps we need a bit of wokeism!
