So I phone the helpline and get the usual "We're very busy, bog off"
Call back 10 minutes later, get into a queue - only 6 minutes or so. It went something like this .....
"Hi, I'm ......, whadda you want?"
"I put me form in yesterday, asked for a confirmatory email, but I've not had it"
"Oh, I was reading something about that. Are you the bloke who phoned last night?"
"Blimey, yes, that was me"
"We said wait 24 hours and check your junk folder ...."
"Yes, but I know a guy who put his in this morning - and he's 'ad his email!"
"Oh. Doesn't seem very fair, does it?"
"Well, no"
"OK, so I'll 'ave a word with me team leader"
On hold"She's not replying. They're very busy you know .."
"I bet!"
"Anyway, I'll get back to you when I've found somethin' out"
"OK"
"Actually, I 'ad another caller earlier, same thing."
"I see. Well all I want is for you to confirm you've had it"
"Well 'e wants an email or else. He don't want to get fined"
"I can understand that"
"We do record all the calls, you know, so you'd be alright ...."
So there the matter currently lies. I await events!
