Alba Party candidate apologises for calling Nicola Sturgeon

Postby Suff » 30 Mar 2021, 19:08

a ‘cow’.

My first thought was that he was going to apologies to the cows. But, no, on reading the article it was a personal apology to her. I still think the apology to the cows is wanting.

Oh, how predictable, it's the modern way. Say something not quite nice about someone, something, anything and then immediately apologise.

But of course when your apology goes live the damage / insult has already been done - as you well knew it would be.

Absolutely. There have been a few occasions in our politics recently when either the media or one party have lied about or insulted another party.
Eventually the apology comes, but as the saying goes the lie is half way around the world before the truth gets its boots on.
That said Sturgeon is the epitome of bad feeling in politics.

Actually it was not a "lie" per se, it was a true rendering of his feelings for a woman who lied to, deceived and misled the parliamentary party she is the leader of and the parliament she is first minister of. Those statements are pretty much fact and validated. Even though she got away with it.

What he did was call her a cow (feelings about the kind of person who would act that way to a colleague and parliament), then apologise for letting his true feelings out instead of keeping them to himself. Because, apparently, we're not supposed to know how our representatives feel. Only hear the party line and a pre sanctified message "passed by the management".

It would have been interesting, today, to find something on social media, via google, with a line to the effect of "with cows like this who needs enemies"....

Has anybody heard the rumour that Sturgeon has an injunction out about her private life?

ps I think she's a cow too, but I wouldn't call her it in public.

I wouldn't slur poor cows with her.

I believe she manifests many of the qualities of people who think that the end justifies the means.

That puts her lower than roadkill on my radar.
