That's good news Kaz - hopefully he will continue to improve x

Such sad news re Prince Philip, although as has been said not unexpected. Poor Queen, this will hit her so hard :(

It's been a sunny morning but now we have showers and it's still not warm! We drove down to the beach for a rather bracing walk along the sand, so beautiful with the sun shining :) I had an email on Wednesday morning regarding our upcoming break to Grasmere...we were due to go on 8th May, but because it's an apartment, it's classed as having communal doors/stairs etc, so it was to be cancelled - again! (from last year) and an added bit on to say if they didn't hear from me by 7th (ie THAT DAY!) it would automatically be cancelled and I'd get a full refund. But if we could get to the Lakes, we wanted to go - so I have found the same place we stayed at in 2019, which is a self contained bungalow, so was good to go (at Keswick) BUT it was going to be an extra £156   I was so thrilled to be able to go I said we'd take it, and it's booked so *fingers crossed* we should be ok to go on 7th May! 8-) :D

Hope everyone has a good day xxx

Oh I hope you'll get there Gal! Fingers crossed XX

We had to pay extra to move our Corfu holiday to next May, an extra thousand for the five of us  Annoying, but I suppose as we've missed two years away that kind of events it out a bit :? Sort of  :cute:

Gal I hadn't thought of that, we usually stay in an apartment in Cornwall, but it was already booked so I found a house for a similar price. We go on 14th May so I wonder had I got the apartment if we would have had to cancel too?

We stayed in Keswick last year, we stayed here, I know you are sorted now but I can thoroughly recommend it. What I would say though is if you plan to eat out, book now. When we went in September, we couldn't find anywhere to eat they were all booked up

It’s before the next lot of restrictions are lifted Shell so I doubt we’ll be eating out, certainly in the evening unless it gets a LOT warmer!

Thanks for the heads up regarding another cottage! I bet you’d have been in the same position as us if you’d not changed from the apartment. I was VERY surprised to find our new place available on the same date!

Just had a look at the link Shell, the cottage looks fab, but is it not rather noisy, being so central?

Ours is right on the edge of the area, we can see Skiddaw from the front window 8-)

No Gal. No noise at all. Every night we went out through the back door and walked round to the centre. We even walked all the way back round with our fish and chips one night. The last night we went out the front door and at the end of the path was a little walkway into the town centre. One minute as opposed to six :D
