Just had a load of rather piddled Portuguese blokes turn up in two trucks with trailers and one tractor with trailer. Much laughing, falling about and chucking up of hay bales. So that's us clean for another year.

Our nice neighbours are coming back in September

I've already organised a cleaner for them, as the house has been empty for almost 18 months. And we've left skylights and windows open

Having to pick figs every day now They're not quite ripe, but if I leave them the birds get them

Our fig bush has leafed up, Jan, and there are some fruit buds developing, but we're a long way off having any fruit.

Hoping we get a downpour tonight; the garden need it.

We have zillions of the buggers. Big fat icky sticky things.

I hate them. I hate the sweet sickly smell. Don loves them and gorges on them before I can give them away.

It's Royal Ascot Week

We have split our duties.

Mrs O is in front of the telly, watching the gee-gees (and not doing very well, judging by the "$&@**!&% " coming from the living room.

Damn, blast and buggeration

I have only just realised (forgetful of Encalho) that I need to renew my driving licence before my birthday next month.

I need a medical, so need to see the doc and I've been trying to sort it out on-line, rather than go to Beja.

I will not pay the local driving school 30€ to do it for me.
