I'm super lucky - where I live is relatively quiet anyway, but because my bedroom is one of the few that faces to the back vs the front of the property I don't hear much (if any) noise from my little street. I hear the occasional hum from the A3 that runs about a mile and a bit from where I live; and oddly enough every so often - depending on how the wind blows - I can hear the trains going through Woking (which must be a good 6 or so miles away). But other than that - besides the hedgehogs snuffling, foxes making their typical fox noise and the occasional cats having an altercation the nights are silent. Even during the day it's usually very quiet, well it would be if it weren't for one particular kid in the 'hood that has
the most horrendous high pitched piercing screech ever, and boy does he screech a lot whenever things don't go his way.
Oh and in the spring, when the days are getting lighter earlier - 4am the most amazing bird song
I just absolutely love where I live
