The irony is that the hideous 'Mound' is itself obliterated by a huge wall of plastic railings to keep non-payers out - very environmentally friendly.
It was expected to attract 200,000 people at an average of £6.25 a go to walk up a flight of steps so was never going to pay for itself. It sides are so steep that it is a H&S hazard.
But never mind, it is not the committee's money; the council tax payers will fork out - as always.
