Good morning Sunday

Postby Ally » 15 Aug 2021, 06:05

Good morning.

Don got here ok on Friday morning.
The apartment is really nice and only a ten minute walk from dad's so easy to keep popping back to see Michele and Mark.

Don and I are off into Glasgow for the day.

First stop is M&S. I need an outfit for Thursday and they have smart black dresses with matching jackets. I also need a pair of shoes as all I'd brought over was a selection of Converse. :?

We're meeting up with sis and Mark this evening for a drink and dinner....a pre birthday treat.

I really don't feel like celebrating my 60th tomorrow but know dad would absolutely want me to enjoy it so I'm going to try.

Have a great day.

Morning everyone :)

Ally, I hope you can enjoy your drinks and meal tonight, and your 60th tomorrow, just as your dear dad would have wanted ((((((x))))))

Have a good day Cruiser xxx

We're going to see Harry today :) We're driving across and taking him out for lunch :) Becky and Fraggle are coming too, as we can't leave Fraggle alone all day. Becky is going to stay with her dad and Fraggle at his house, and spend some time with him, rather than come for lunch, as she's still on a soft/liquid diet since her gum surgery on Tuesday. Chris is still isolating until tomorrow, so can't join us either, but as he's coming over to see us in a fortnight's time we'll see him soon anyway. The job at Thorpe Park didn't work out for Harry, he couldn't cope with it, and failed the Health and Safety tests for the rides. He tried hard, and TP tried too, but it wasn't a fit - something that suits him will come along eventually I'm sure, but it is a worry. Still, it will be amazing to see him today, it's been far too long!!!

Take care everyone xxxx

Good morning all.
Grey here but not cold.
Son and sister in law are coming for dinner which is nice. Also Fred the black lab who will be after the chicken!
Enjoy your birthday if you can Ally, as you say it is what your dad would want x
Have a good day Cruiser.
No matter how old they grow, our children are still our little ones aren't they Kaz? Harry will get sorted but we always worry about them.
A quiet day for the rest of today, watching the motorbikes this afternoon and a bit of cricket.
Have a good day all.

Morning all :D

Lovey and sunny here 8-)

Hope you enjoy your dinner tonight Ally, as you say it's what your dad would want xx
Kaz have a lovely time with Harry, I'm sure something more suitable for him will turn up soon xx
Have a nice family dinner Crommers.

Hate being without the dishwasher, the engineer was originally coming on the 24th, luckily for us they've had a cancellation and he's due this coming Tuesday, fingers tightly crossed it's fixable. Hopefully he'll be in/out before lunch as eldest daughter and husband (M&M) are coming to visit with our grandson David. They've booked an apartment along the beach front for 3 days. Last year they did their own thing during the day and visited us late afternoon for 3 hours or so. Providing the weather holds I expect it will be much the same again although as we're out and about now I expect we'll meet them for a meal down at the harbour one of the evenings.

Nothing planned for today, about to get the umbrellas up so we can sit out in the garden. Roast chicken with salad for dinner later, vanilla blancmange with lemon and lime jelly for pud.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s a strange sort of day, dull, warm but a chilly breeze. We were terribly lazy this morning, late up and didn’t have our showers until well after breakfast. We did go to walk on the pier but the wind was cold so we cut the walk short. I’ve been doing bits and pieces getting ready for our holiday - honestly, it’s been so long since we went on holiday that I’ve got out of the habit and I already have copious lists, but that’s part of the fun! I’m feeling rather heavy headed and sluggish and just had a brief nap in the chair, so hopefully that will give me the energy to do more stuff. Washing to hang out for a start, and checking if other holiday clothes need to be washed. Knitting this evening, had to undo a tricky row last night so need to tackle it again. I’m making a little cardi for Kellie, it could be for her birthday in October but I’m such a slow knitter, it may well be for C-word

Hello all

Just a quick popping in as I had to do something computer related for a friend.... Ally glad you're having the dinner tonight; a bitter sweet evening no doubt but as you say - your dad wouldn't want you to be home sad and moping. He'd be pushing you out the door and telling you to go have fun, and raise a glass to him and your mum xxxx (((hugs)))

Had an update from Jan as well - she's still in hospital. She was hoping to go home yesterday but was told it'll be a few more days. The op was bigger than originally thought so it's all taking a bit longer to heal. She will update fully when she's back home and has access to the internet. At the moment we can only communicate via SMS messages

Have a lovely rest of day everyone

x
