Well the doomsters are certainly out in force today with SAGE and SPI-M predicting hospitalisations could rise to between 3,000 to 7,000 per day and that elements of the "Winter" plan could be in force by mid October. It will not be a 'Lockdown' as we don't have them any more, it is likely to be 'lockdown lite'. And don't forget the food shortages and inflation at 3.2% and rising. :roll:

"An irreversible path to freedom".
I guess we'll soon see about that

I had a 'rolleyes' moment when reading about the inflation on the BBC when I came across this;
What is inflation?

Simply put, inflation is the rate at which prices are rising - if the cost of a £1 jar of jam rises by 5p, then jam inflation is 5%.

It applies to services too, like having your nails done or getting your car valeted.

You may not notice low levels of inflation from month to month, but in the long term, these price rises can have a big impact on how much you can buy with your money.

If adults need this primary school example we, as a country, are in deep $h!t.

"But, miss, inflation is at 3.2%. How much jam is that?"
"Jemima, go stand in the corridor..."

Can't wait for their example of compound interest.... :twisted: :twisted:

This is the data on which they will base their decisions.

The latest data from Public Health England shows Covid vaccines are highly effective against hospitalisation from the Delta (B.1.617.2) variant, the dominant strain in the UK. Analysis shows the Pfizer-BioNTech vaccine is 96% effective and the Oxford-AstraZeneca vaccine is 92% effective against hospitalisation after two doses.

Hence to the push to widen the vaccination scope.

I truly believe that Westminster does not want these restrictions to continue. Holyrood, on the other hand, is an entirely different animal. They WANT these restrictions and they WANT people to believe it is good for them.

It takes me back to the days when Russians within the USSR truly believed were were baby eating capitalistic monsters who would come over and destroy them if they did not embrace communism fully. They really did believe the propaganda machine which bombarded them with a warped truth about the West. Even then when they came over to the West they didn't believe most of what they saw. The really big shocker for them was the attitude to food and the food supply. That was one truth which could not be hidden or warped and promoted many questions about their homeland.

I see Scotland going in a similar direction with Covid and Comrade Sturgeon. Sadly.
