Wonder if ossie has any in his shed
I did during the fuel shortage about 10 years ago, Saundra, when we were in Birmingham - it was a red 5 litre can we kept full in the garage, but once that crisis was over, we used that petrol up and got rid of the can down the council tip. We were both working then so needed the car, but now we're retired, like Crommers, we hardly go anywhere much, so this current crisis isn't (at the moment) much of a problem.
Back during the days of that really old strike, what, 25 years or more ago now, we were living in South Somerset, semi-rural. Our local garage / Ford dealership / petrol station - a "Q8" you don't see that now - made it "Account Customers Only".
I didn't have a petrol account, but I'd bought my car from there, was a regular user for both fuel and servicing, had a good relationship with the guys and gals there, so they "nodded me through" .....
