Good Morning Tuesday

Postby JanB » 12 Oct 2021, 05:34

Morning everyone

Still dark, but the forecast is for a lovely warm day 8-)

Up rather early, not only because of darking bogs :cute: but also because the hospital rang last yesterday and asked me to come in at 9.00 this morning, rather than at 2.00pm.

Next door seem to have gone away and left the dogs outside  So naturally, the one who is normally kept inside is barking at everything. So a phone call to the police later.

We'll have breakfast somewhere on the way back and also pop into Lidl in Beja, as long as there isn't a queue to get in.

Popping into see Jan on the way back, as my repeat prescription came through on e-mail, rather than my phone and we don't have a printer, but she does ;)

Not sure what we«ll do when we get back, a snooze, probably

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning Jan, morning all :)

Good luck at the hossie, Jan, and I hope the police can do something about the dog situation - I think these neighbours would get done for noise nuisance and animal neglect here :cute: :cute:

My shoulder hurts this morning, probably from carrying my large cross-body bag at the weekend  I expect that will wear off as the day goes on. Walking into town shortly for a few bits - bizarrely we seem to be almost out of loo roll, and I was sure we had plenty! :? I'd better get some in case we run out before Thursday and Sainsbury's  I blame Ossie for causing a South West shortage with his stockpiling :P ;)

Both Mick and I have the dentist's later, Mick made the appointments for 6pm, I'd rather have an earlier time but as it's only check-up we shouldn't be too long. They e-mailed us health forms to fill in, that were really quite intrusive I thought :? No idea why a dentist needs to know whether you have ever had an STI (no!) :? It's not as if we're even new patients :?

Have a good day everyone xxx

Good morning all. Grey skies here today.
Kaz, that does sound intrusive. We get forms at the dentist too - why does your dentist need to know how many units of alcohol you drink per week?
Jan, those dogs would send me up the wall.
A quiet day here today after Eliza and Dobby the barmy dog returned home yesterday.
Usual usual, exercise and walk.
Sausage and mash for tea though!
Have a good day all.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Good luck at the hospital Jan.
Hope the dental check up goes well Kaz. Agree the forms are very intrusive.
Sausages for our dinner tonight too Crommers.

After the prompt service from my dental practice last week and in spite of being told to ring back if I was still having trouble, I can't get an appontment before Thursday afternoon, not impressed. The pain is manageable provided I stick to tepid food and drink.

No plans for today apart from a few house work jobs that need doing.

Hope you all have a good day xx

And we're back :D :D

Hospital went okay, I actually saw the surgeon :D both hernia's were done (I wasn't sure that the lower one had been done or not) and she wanted me to have an x-ray before the next appointment in January. So off I toddle, take a ticket and wait. Got called in quickly, only for the receptionist to ask when my appointment was and then said that they would ring me with an appointment  I explained that we live about an hours drive away, but just got the Portuguese shoulder shrug

Collected prescription, had a chat with Jan and have spoken to the police about the dogs. They'll be sending a patrol out :Hi: :Hi:

Grumpy having a lie down, I'd better now join him in case the police come up here

Why on earth would the dentists need to know such personal stuff? All we get asked about here is what medication we take.

Lovely, sunny day now 8-)

Afternoon, it started off cloudy this morning but it gradually cleared and the temperature is just perfect for pottering about. We had a vague idea about one thing we might do today, but then changed our mind and went for a long walk instead (we thought it was long because we just meandered along, but in reality we only did just under 6km). We saw a building that we felt was the epitome of an Italian Villa, you could imagine seeing it in a film. Now it’s a hotel and had an outside restaurant overlooking the lake so we stopped for a light lunch. You could almost see the people wafting about on the terrace in 1920s or 1930s clothes. When leaving, we popped into the building itself for a look and it was not at all enticing! We had an amazing trip yesterday, some of you might have seen on FB, to a 500 year old church up in the mountains, it was really beautiful. As it is not too hot, we don’t need aircon and can have the window open, so we are sleeping very well. Eating too much

nothing wrong with eating too much Osc, esp when away for a lovely break in a country that has just amazing food!

wonder re the hotel if the reason it's not enticing on the inside, if they maybe use it for films, so it's easier to keep it simple? It sounds like a very interesting place, esp from the outside

Eat lots of lovely food Osc, especially when you're on holiday :Hi:

Two lovely policemen came up earlier and will be having words and probably a fine - again - for next door. We spoke to Jose Felipe, as he is feeding the animals, to see if he can get the most noisy dog inside for the night, but he is scared of it too. Bluddy great thing it is.

One thing the police said, is that they built their house far too close to this one. Doesn't help any, but just reinforces our thoughts too.

Popped down to the bar, and obviously, everyone wanted to know what was going on

And have yet another dozen eggs to use, so omelette for dinner it is 8-)
