After Don trawling various companies for quotes, some of them absolutely outrageous, he got one from Malaga removals who came up with an extremely good price of £220 door to door.

And it was £16 for the five boxes from Poundland.

I left the cash with Craig and he'll pay on his card when the driver turns up.

hello and good morning everyone

Ally, it'll be a bittersweet moment when you get to unpack those boxes once they arrive with you x
Kaz, good luck for Harry - it really is tough out there. Fingers crossed he finds something soon; it just knocks their confidence so badly otherwise.
Jan, enjoy your day doing the bits and bobs and well done with the ginger. I should give it a go....

An office day for me today - the train ahead of mine was cancelled so mine was rammed; just like old commuting days and must say I am so glad I don't have to do this every day any more. Thankfully I'd say 90 or 95% of the people were wearing masks but there still are quite a number that aren't. Interestingly most that don't seem to be in the late 20's / early 30's age bracket, it's something I'd noticed before.

On the way to the station I noticed that the leaves on the trees seem to have changed colour so quickly and the mornings are decidedly nippy with lots of dew on the surfaces - it's time to start digging out candles and make the home all cozy and snug etc.

Have a lovely day everyone x

Good morning all, it’s dull and breezy here.

Had a lovely long walk with Bill this morning. John’s painting the skirting boards in the downstairs toilet, I’ll paint the door at the weekend when I’m home alone. He needs a threshold strip too so we’ll go to Stafford later this morning, there’s a Wickes in the town centre.

Shannon had some good news yesterday, she’s been offered a permanent contract at the National Trust property she works at. She’s been covering maternity leave and had been worrying about not having a job when that ends in March. She’s not accepted it yet though as she and Tom need to talk about living arrangements, they want to buy somewhere in the near future and need to find a happy medium between their two work places; Tom’s in Burton on Trent and Shannon’s by Manchester Airport. Stoke is the obvious choice but…Stoke’s not the nicest place. We’ve just sat having coffee, me and John, and found a few really lovely new builds on a development in a town near there. They could get a three bedroom detached for under £240,000 there

Al, that’s sounds a really good price considering the distance!

Kaz, that is brilliant news! :D

Ria, I’ve started lighting the candles again this week (and may have visited the Yankee shop at the outlet the other day and left with a bag  ).

Have a good day all :D

Good morning everybody,

Cloudy but no rain. It is getting cooler. Am now wearing a thick sweater over my shirt. Am trying to delay putting the central heating on.

Have just got home from having a pedicure. Feet are still in good shape. Going again just before Christmas. Have also given a list of dates for next year.
She soon gets booked up.

Just pootling this afternoon.
Have a good day everybody

Morning all :D

Nice and sunny here 8-)

Good luck to H Kaz, hope he finds a job that suits him.
Oops about the glasses Saundra, thank goodness they are okay.

Dentist for me at 3.10pm. It's all a bit complicated, I'm scheduled for major surgery on 4th November and having a tooth, which could be troublesome, out so soon before could mean the surgery gets postponed. Definitely not deal, it's taken almost 2yrs to get this far. The dentist seems to think she can keep me going until after and tbh it's not too bad right now, will have to wait and see.

No other plans for today.

Hope you all have a good day xx
