Good morning Christmas Eve Friday

Postby Ally » 24 Dec 2021, 07:00

Good morning.

Yesterday showered on and off and the same forecast for today. It's extremely mild and lovely to see the gardens getting watered. :D

Walking into town for a haircut at noon. I'll get some last minute bits from Mercadona when I'm finished.

Conor is coming over and the three of us are going to Gambrinus for lunch.
Everything closes here by 6pm as for the Spanish Christmas Eve dinner with family is the most important one of the year.

Conor went shopping yesterday and has bought the ingredients to cook dinner tonight. We don't know what as he wants to surprise us.
He's a good cook so whilst he's got his chef's hat on we'll have drinks in the kitchen, music and merriment and watch him deliver our feast. :x

We're having a zoom call around 11pm with Jacob and Craig in Nottingham.

Looking forward to it all.

Have a good day.

Ongoing vibes for B.

Oh...and Mark got home from hospital last night. Michele sent me a WhatsApp pic and although he looked pale he's very happy to be home.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Foggy start again and we're forecast sun, clouds and more rain.

Hopefully, no rain later as we've arranged to meet friends for a drink at the bar 8-)

Need to make some flat breads to go with tonight's curry and that's about it for the day.

I have a book to finish off and another that Grumpy said I would like already lined up

Continued vibes for Becky xx

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Good morning!
It’s foggy here too Jan.

I’ve already been to the Co Op, I always put some scratchcards in Tom and Joe’s stockings so needed to get them and also some cash for their main presents and I’ve got one load of washing done.
Tom’s off to see Shannon shortly. Joe’s in work until lunchtime, Amanda stayed last night and she’s here working on her dissertation this morning so she’s up in Joe’s room on the top floor, he’s got a desk in there and it’ll be quiet for her to work up there while we’re all two floors down.

Vibes are continuing for Becky x

Have a good day all :D

Morning all, never got around to posting yesterday! It’s a pleasant enough morning here but rain is due later. We are trying to decide whether or not to pop into town to get a bit of the atmosphere, although things do feel a bit strange this year. Lots of nice Christmassy things to watch on the tv this evening.

Good morning everybody.

Vibes for B.
I was just locking the car having been for the paper when one of the neighbours came across and asked if I could run him to town.
He said his wife had gone to Tesco and on the way home the car had broken down. So off we went. He pushed it to a safer place as it
was near a busy junction. The husband then tried to start it but no luck. They only bought it earlier this year.
He phoned one of the breakdown companies and when they confirmed they would come, I brought his wife home with
the shopping. Tyhe car has not arrived home so may be stil waiting for the recovery firm.
There are grey skies with patches of blue showing through.
Having a relaxing day, without a bit of housework as I am out tomorrow.
No cards from USA or Germany.
Hope Santa has not got Covid

Good morning all.
Grey and raining here.
That was a neighbourly thing to do Cruiser. Glad Mark is out of hospital Ally. He will rest better at home, for sure.
Just been to our Sainsbury's local, it was mad busy. Then had to go to another shop because they were out of Daily Telegraphs. Whilst I was in that shop a man came in on a mobility scooter.
He was dressed in a t-shirt and shorts. You could see his back where the t-shirt had ridden up. Bear in mind it's December, none to warm and raining.
He bought three six packs of lager, half a bottle of gin, twenty cigs - and two bottles of lucozade.
I will run MrsC down to her Uncle Jim's in a while.. She has cooked him a small ham joint for Christmas.
Have a good day all.

Morning all :)

Not raining at the moment, but it's very wet out there.

You're in for a busy day Ally, enjoy lunch and dinner. Glad to hear Mark's home.
Enjoy drinks at the bar Jan.
Sounds as though you're busy today too Jo.
Looking forward to all the Christmas programmes too Osc.
Well done Cruiser, what a good neighbour you are.
Glad I didn't have to brave the shops today Crommers, not surprised to hear it was crazy busy.
WM special thoughts for Becky x

Not too much to do today, E stripped the bed so the sheets are in the wash, I'll be popping the bathroom towels in next. Also got the dishwasher on the go with all the moveable bits from the hob. We whizzed round the bungalow yesterday, me wafting the duster, Ed following with the hoover, a domestic goddess I'm not, but I do like everything fresh for Christmas Day :D

Hope you all have a good day Image
