Morning all, it’s quite a pleasant day and forecast to get to 13 degrees which feels unnatural for the time of year. We thoroughly enjoyed West Side Story yesterday, I’m not normally a fan of remakes but this was excellent, see it if you can. No real plan for today, Edward has gone to play golf, I’ll do some tidying around, I need to renew the car insurance but otherwise it will be reading or knitting. We’ve never been bothered with NYE so no doubt we will be in bed well before midnight.

Morning all :D

Damp and overcast, think we're in for more rain.

((((Saundra)))) xxx

We looked at the meal deal in M&S yesterday, but didn't fancy any of the mains. Then we saw some rotisserie chickens, we haven't had one since well before the first lockdown and for a change they were a good size. We're having it for dinner this evening, yummy.

We'll be popping a bottle of bubbly to see the New Year in. Here's hoping it's a good one for all of us xx

Morning everyone :)

We’re out and about at the moment :) The kids are at work 8-) Tesco wanted to extend Harry’s contract - the manager said she was very pleased with him - so as his new IT course is 30hrs he’s just going to work Saturdays from now on for a bit of spending money :)

I’d just like to wish everyone on here a very Happy New Year and thank you all for your company in these difficult and unusual times. Let’s hope for a better year ahead. Lots of love to you all xxx

Oh Saundra, it's so hard I know, my sister is in a similar position ((((((((((((((()))))))))))))))

Thanks Kaz and can I also extend a hearty Happy New Year to you all too - may 2022 be better and brighter for us all xxxxxx

It's still mild here but grey. I had an appointment at a shop in our village at 10 this morning to look at/try on MOTB dresses (Mother of the Bride) I've passed this shop countless times but never been inside, what a treat!! I was in well over an hour, by appointment only ofc, and the two ladies brought me various styles and colours of dresses to try on. Had loads of compliments from them both, got the choices down to two, plus shoes and fascinator, but then I balked a bit at the price (over £500 altogether, plus alterations which were necessary) so I thanked them kindly for all their help and bowed out. At least it showed me what styles and colours to aim for - and I have since purchased one of those I saw online, only hope it gets here in good time -it's only 5 weeks off!!! (I really should have taken Jen with me, I'll know next time!!)

Was in dire need of a coffee after that lot, but had Lidl to face first and THEN I got my cuppa!! Tom's been to the farm this morning, he's now bathed and ready for NYE. No idea what to have for tea....despite having done a shop and filled the newly fixed (!!) freezer LOL. But I HAVE got some Prosecco in 8-)

That's good news for Harry Kaz - so happy for him!!

It was such a lovely day, quite warm :Hi:

We went into Ourique, to get petrol for the strimmers and the car, as we need to be in Beja on Monday afternoon.

«
Mitchell has just rung, he's in agony with sciatica, so I'll ring him tomorrow, to see how he's doing.

We had planned on meeting our nice neighbours down at the bar this afternoon, but three of the people they spent Christmas with, have tested positive, so theyre isolating. We spent an hour and a half, sat outside the bar, in the sun (shade on our heads) and it was so quiet.

Bangers and mash for us, with bantam eggs, thanks to Mitch and his chickens.

Evening all, it’s been a very mild and sunny day today. It’s been more like April than December.

Had a lovely long walk with Bill first thing, just a lightweight jacket was needed and no gloves or hat!

They all came back from Wales mid afternoon. Joe and Amanda have now gone to spend the night at a friend’s house and Tom’s here with us, we’re all watching the Paul McCartney documentary on Disney (I think?).

Happy New Year all, wishing you all a healthy 2022.

Love to you all xx

And how now found out that Joaquinha (Jan's husband) also has it

Quite surprised he's not caught it before, as he works in an Algarve hotel/resort.

So that's us isolating as much as we can, as we saw him last week, although he was only told this afternoon that he had it.

Bangers and mash was lush, going to watch Masterchef, have a brandy and go to bed.

Boa Ano Novo todos bjs
