Can you let us know the location, WM ? - I see you've said York - is it what they call the Shambles? I always find the locations interesting !

All correct so far..... now for the harder ones.

Ossie, it is Stonegate leading to York Minster. The last few metres are a ginnel between St Michael's chapel and the old gatehouse lodge.
