Ossie I know you don't read the Scottish press, but Sturgeon has been proven to be a consummate liar, has abused the party for her own ends and to hide her own deceit, has abused the civil service to interfere in a court case in which she was a defendant and has used Scotland like her own personal fiefdom during Covid.

In fact if it were not for Covid, she would be facing far more scrutiny than Bojo.

Bojo? In terms of lies, sleaze an abuse of power; compared to Sturgeon? Rank amateur.

Beware what you wish for. You might get it!

£600,000 of SNP funds has gone walkabout, two new ferries lie abandoned, unfinished in a shipyard, Scottish education and health services are in a bad way and Sturgeon is now proposing that the legal profession in Scotland is "regulated " by the Scottish government. And never a whiff of criticism from the BBC.

You didn't even mention the Salmond case. Lies, her, her husband, the party leaders. All kinds of jiggery pokery going on there. All reported in the Scottish press. Virtually Ignored in the English press.

Deflection: look at the thread title.

I see that the Met is to wait for the outcome of Sue Gray's inquiry!

So, Boris Johnson asks a senior civil servant to look into the actions of he, Boris Johnson, and others, and then report back to him, Boris Johnson, on whether Boris Johnson and members of his staff broke the law.

Only after it is published will the Met view it, give it further consideration, and then decide what action to take, but it has already given the caveat that they "rarely investigated breaches of Covid law retrospectively."

Strange! They retrospectively look at plenty of other laws being broken... some going back decades.

Not that they will have to as the report will be a whitewash despite there being plenty of factual evidence and an admission and apology from the man himself.

Oh come on!

News is breaking that there were two "into the early hours" leaving dos, with alcohol, in No10 on the eve of Prince Philip's funeral, the 16th of April.

We must all remember the pictures of the Queen, masked up and sitting alone, at the funeral.

I am no Monarchist, but this must be the end.

Laws at the time were:

England was still under strict COVID rules that banned socialising with other households indoors unless you had formed a support bubble.

People in England were also prevented from meeting outdoors in groups larger than six, or from more than two households.

Those coronavirus restrictions also limited Prince Philip's funeral to just 30 attendees, with only 15 allowed to go to wakes.

Cressida!?

No point in pointing out that these laws were in place to stop people who do not associate with others from grouping together in their social. Time?

Or that these people were already in a "work bubble" where the majority of them worked together and me with each other daily?

Too much reality?

There was some precedent for them being together. Just no reason to push the boundaries when, as you say, the Queen was alone and unsupported during her funeral.

There is a mechanism for expressing your discontent with this. It is called a vote. Understand what has happened, Mark it down for polling day and Move On.

Don't let the press feed off it and make millions out of it.

In 3 years time they will be held accountable. You can be sure that in 2 years time the press and media will make a fortune out of reminding us. Ad nauseum.

For me it is closed.

It does have an upside though. For the first time in nearly 2 years the Google News portal health section doesn't have an entry for Covid in the top 4 items.

Says it all really.

I remember that photograph.
This is awful, there is no excuse for holding a leaving do / disco in those circumstances. At the very least everyone who attended that do should be sacked, no matter who they may be.

ps I wouldn't rely on Dipstick of the Yard too much if I were you WM.
Not unless a Brazillian electrician did the lights for the disco, then she'd send a hit squad in. She gives ordinary useless people a bad name.

Not according to Suff in his support of his pin-up poster boy - he's spending a fortune on Blu-tack to keep it up.

No point in pointing out that when "at work" they would have been in a Covid secure environment (the LAW at the time) or that drinking and nibbling in a garden, cheese anyone(?), even with the same people, broke the LAW.

Not relying on Dipstick, she's in there hand and glove. Another who should be sacked.

No, no, he's just adding context.

I'm saying that there is more than one angle to this, the press is pushing for outrage and you're lapping it up.

Save it. Vote. Done.
