Weather warnings!

Postby Workingman » 14 Feb 2022, 14:33

Bingly-bong went the phone and there were two overlapping weather warnings - yellow and amber - for storms Dudley and Eunice and they are set to last from 3 pm on Wednesday to 6 am on Friday. Gusts from 60 to 90 mph are predicted with blizzard conditions over the tops.

I am off to do a shop for comforting foods then I will hunker down for a day or two.

They've issued weather warnings for Dorset for windy conditions late Wednesday and midday Friday, but neither of them look too serious ATM; nothing above gusts of 40mph.

I've always thought that bears have got it right.

They've now upgraded the wind forecasts for this area for most of Wednesday afternoon and all of Friday, giving gusts up to 48 mph.
We've had worse, but I will need to put the wheelie bins up the back passage tomorrow evening to stop them blowing around .... luckily we don't have another collection until Monday.

Pushing wheelie bins up your back passage is never a pleasant option.

I tried in once, but never again. I couldn't sit down for a week.

They have upgraded Friday's storm to Amber here in Dorset, with gusts up to 75 mph for a 3 hour spell.
That's the highest gust estimates I've seen on the BBC weather app for this area since we moved down here ... :?
May have to have a look round the garden tomorrow and see if anything else needs securing.
