Next door’s already sold
We were nosing last weekend from our seats in the stadium at half time, via the Ring doorbell, and they’d had four sets of viewers on Saturday morning. Not sure if they’ve had any more since or if it was any of those who’s bought it.

That could be very grand, Jan!

There’s a house on one of the other estates in the village which sold early last year and we walked past last night and noticed it was for sale again. Had a nosy on right move and it sold last March for £260,000 and is now up for sale for £325,000. They’ve done a lot of cosmetic work inside though and it looks much nicer than when it sold previously.

These "price hikes" are all very well, but at the end of the day, it's all relative, given you'd have to pay so much more yourself if you decided to move.
Hope you get decent neighbours, Jo. It's always a bit of a worry when you get changes in the neighbourhood.

Absolutely right Ossie, the ones who really lose out are the FT buyers, as it becomes increasingly difficult to get on the ladder!

We keep trying to urge Tom on. He and Shannon have a very good deposit (close to £30000) but are doing absolutely nothing about looking for a place. They want a new build and need somewhere between Burton on Trent and Wilmslow, the Stoke area fits the bill perfectly but Shannon wants to live in Leek and there’s very little available there in their budget and what there is needs totally renovating.

She’s now making noises about them renting until the right place comes along, obviously we can’t stick our noses in and disagree but renting is just throwing money away IMO.

We found this place, 45 minutes to her work and 45 minutes to Tom’s but there’s been no interest shown but at that price it’d be an ideal first time buy

Very nice first home, that one Jo.

Chatting to Lucy earlier, they thought of buying the house up from us, which was advertised at 269.000 but were told it would go for 180.000

They bought their place for 180.000, in a much better area. Easier access, that other was was up a very steep track and over a rather rickety bridge.
