Now Shannon and her Dad have tested positive. Tom was with them this weekend so I can’t see him dodging it again surely.

How he’s managed to not get it yet, what with working in a school where it’s been rife and then the other three of us here having it, is beyond me.

I got stung today by a huge bumble bee. He didn't leave the sting in so I hope he doesn't die. But the place where he stung me bled and I washed it well, although it is very painful and swollen now. It got me when I unzipped my boots, I presume it was on the top of my boot and I touched it by mistake as i pulled them off

I was watching Martha Kearney - former Newsnight now a bee keeper - on one of the minor channels and she was explaining that not all bees die after stinging; bumble bees are one. They cannot do it one the fly or repeatedly, as with wasps. They need to land and also have a recovery period to replenish the sting.

I hope the sting has eased by now, Shell, a sting is a sting and they all hurt.
