Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 04 Mar 2022, 07:02

Good morning.

Forecast cloudy sunshine and 21C. :D

Off for my walk soon then back to clear out the utility room. I'll then crack on with the painting. :P

That'll work up a thirst for my Friday beers and tapas tonight.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Sunny this morning, but with a very strong wind, so feeling cold. Think we might get to about 17C today.

A slightly better nights sleep, but I still went into another bedroom at 3.00 this morning  Happily reading when Grumpy joined me   It's a northerly wind and had found some cracks in the silicone or something around the window, so was talking to him. Loudly

I'm off to the dreaded coffee morning later. I know they'll have some books, so I can just stay there and ignore everyone. Think there will be a few surprised faces when I walk in

Back to do the cleaning and make the curry I didn't make yesterday. Spent most of the day trying to stay awake

Enjoy painting Ally :D

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Hello you two and everyone

Ally have fun with the utility room - take some before / after photos
Jan, daft question but why go to the coffee club if you don't want to? I know it's nice to spend time with people you like that are there but can't you arrange a separate coffee morning for a smaller group that you like and actually want to interact with? ;-)

Well a very damp start to the day - not raining but wet air if that makes sense. Everything is wet and grey and just meh. Definitely a stay indoor with the lights on kind of weather. No need for me to go out for anything that I can think of so wearing comfy clothing and will have a dig in the freezer in a bit to figure out what to have for dinner so I can hopefully get it defrosted in time. I sold my microwave a few weeks back and am trying to see how I get on without one. So far so good, but you have to make sure you remember to allow the time for defrosting ;-)

Have a lovely day everyone x

Ria, I can meet my mates down at the bar. This is just a one off that Rita, Chris and Lucy along with Jan, want me to do. I know there will be some nice people there, but there are also going to be some of the pretentious idiots you get anywhere.

I will, no doubt, be asked how much land I have (oh, only three acres) how big the pool is, if I actually have one and what did I "do".

I have avoided going there for six years, as it's just not my thing. I never joined that sort of thing in England and can see no point in going on over here, as well as the book club, gardening club etc etc.

For the gardening club, you are expected to lay on coffee and cakes, whilst people you probably don't even know, wander about your house and garden, being nosy.

Morning all, it’s bright, sunny and cold, and the days are getting longer, yay! Edward has gone to the golf club and I’m meeting two friends for lunch. Haven’t seen either of them for over two years, so there will be lots of catching up. I love that we have been friends since Junior Infants in school. Edward and I will be going dancing this evening. Must get on with the general tidy up before I go, luckily the restaurant is only a short walk away.

I’m not a great joiner in either, never fancied book clubs or anything like that. I seem to be even more so as I get older.

LOL Jan.... I'm just picturing it all and not sure why but the gardening club scene sounds like one from Midsommmer Murders

Just tell them you live in a caravan by the river and don't actually own any land :D

Know exactly where you are coming from Jan.

When we were in Madeira I went a couple times to the English Church on Saturday for books ,tremendous selection BUT the Christian people (nearly all living on the west) known as little England !!! .They completely ignored me when I said we lived East side of the island !

Always used hotels after that to exchange books ,never a problem
