A elderly neighbour has died.

I saw the police car at about 6:30 pm and then the ambulance at 6:45 pm then the stretcher brought out at 7:10 pm. The ambulance was there a while I suppose waiting for a doctor to confirm. Just gone.

Dave, their next door neighbour, was telling us that he had not seen her since last Friday. He has been keeping a quiet eye on her since her husband died in mid January and was a bit worried because he usually puts her bin out on his way to work on Monday but morning there was nothing in it. When he got home there were no lights on and then it registered that he didn't have to do the bin because!? Beep! Beep! Beep! so he gave a knock - no answer. He shouted through the letter box and sill no answer. He phoned the home phone and her mobile with no response so he called the police, and so it went.

She was in her mid 80s. RIP E.

Yes. I think that after he died she just gave up. I do not think there were any children - never seen any.

They were both very dapper, ultra smart, and always held hands when out for a walk.

I had been trying to ring her, no answer, so drove from Chipping Sodbury to Chippenham and there she was.

As you probably know, I live on my own. A friend contacts me nearly every day to make sure i am still OK. Also one of my wife's cousins phones
regularly. And a neighbour acros the road knows when I go out. One day last year when I went out early and didn't return till after 6.00 p.m,
she said she was going to contact the police. She had not seen me and there was no signs I was still alive.

It is a problem a lot of people have.
