Sad news for Mitchell

Postby JanB » 26 Mar 2022, 18:00

His youngest daughter died on Thursday.

She was 57 and had been suffering with lung cancer for the last year.

When I spoke to him earlier, he honestly thought she was feeling/getting better, full of beans when he spoke to her on Wednesday.

He's hit the brandy bottle rather more than normal, so I'll be ringing him every other day, to make sure he's okay.

He's been putting a brave face on it, Kaz, since he heard about it.

But he was crying on the phone when he told me, so that set me off too.

Awful to lose a child, however old they are.

Really bad Jan, sorry to hear it.

My BIL told Mrs S that a long time friend of theirs had liver cancer. Two weeks ago he was given a maximum of 2 years to live. Yesterday he dropped dead in his wife's arms.

Lot of bad stuff going around. Hope everyone keeps safe and well.

So sad Suff.

We need to enjoy, if that's the right word, what we have. embrace might be better.

We're all getting older.

I would have been her birthday tomorrow and Mitch will be 78 in a weeks time, that's what got to him. He received a lovely birthday card from her yesterday.

That is sad, Jan, our children are not supposed to die before we do.

Thank you everyone, I've just rung him and he's rather still getting used to the idea that they won't speak again on a Sunday.
