Good morning.

Sunshine. 8-)

Going for a long walk up and down all the steep hills in our town. Jackie wants to join me but has been warned.

Back to read, chill and prepare a prawn and chorizo linguine for dinner tonight.

Have a great day.

This time next week we'll all be on the plane. :o

Morning Ally, Cruiser and everyone

A lot of cloud this morning and we're in for a couple of cold and rainy days - and nights. Don't mind the rain, not sure about the cold

Will get those peas picked this morning and then do the ironing. Will look at the broad beans too, as I think some of them will be ready.

other than that, not a day for being outside, so inside stuff.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

Morning all
A dull and dreary day here too. I had to empty the car this morning and get it up to the local garage so they could do a once over / safety check before we set off to Germany on Sunday. After emptying it (so much rubbish in there, so going to throw things away / take to the allotment what should be there and generally make sure it stays empty). I got myself ready, then FFP2 mask on, disposable gloves on and got in the car, wiped down every surface I may have touched in the past 24 hours with an antiviral wipe and same again when I got to the garage. Spare key hasn't been touched - put into an envelope using tweezers :D and envelope opened at the garage and key dropped on counter. Chap at garage kept far away and I had the door open - gosh what a palaver, but at least they were happy to take it in

But a nice 25 minute walk back - fresh air always good and same walk again later to collect the car.

So today will be a work / pootle / sort / tidy kind of day - think it's the same for most of us

Enjoy your one everyone - Ally you may need to be the bestest friend ever and end up pushing / pulling Jackie up the hills :D

Good morning all.
Dull and grey today but not as cold thank the Lord.
Our cul de sac is due for "essential maintenance" this week. We don't know what this is, maybe resurfacing. There are much worse roads than ours in the village though, so we'll have to see.
Poor MrsC is full of cold and will be staying in today.
Keep warm and have a good day everyone.

Morning all :D

Wet and miserable here

E's expecting a call from the RNOH at 11.30 this morning. It's for his pre op assessment, but the letter says he could still be asked to go in for blood tests. He's up there this coming Wednesday for an MRI so he'll ask if the bloods could be done the same day. I hope they can fit him in, it would be completely daft for him to do an extra 5hr round trip for tests which only take minutes. The guy who ran him up last time was quite chatty and let slip it costs £350 every time they take him to/from, probably more now petrol's gone up. I'm not overly hopeful though, saving unnecessary expense seems the last thing the NHS is worried about, still haven't got over the hospital bed fiasco last time he went in.

Expecting a delivery from Tesco later, the e-mail says it's all in stock, unlike Sainsbury's on Friday who had a few items missing. Planning to catch up with the last episode of Peaky this afternoon.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Morning all, it’s fairly grey and dreary here. I woke up feeling quite energetic, so I’ve done quite a bit already - put on a batch of soup, been to the shops and the chemist, phoned Ryanair about our no-show letter for yesterday’s flight, and will be going to the gym in about 15 minutes. The energy level might drop after the gym as I haven’t been there in a few weeks! I brought the ironing up to date yesterday, so may just have a lazy afternoon.

The sun came out, so I spent the morning in the veggie garden, picking as many ready beans and peas that I could find, then the next couple of hours shelling them all

Ironing came wait until tomorrow.

Off to prep the chicken for tonight's dinner, then just sit and read.

Blowing a hooley now  and the sun has gone.

Meant to ask earlier Ria, how are you feeling?
