Some people!

Just down the road from us there is a dog training business. It does quite well, I suppose because of all the dogs that people are buying these days.
Or it was doing well until a few weeks since.
The police received a tip off that the business owner was growing cannabis (a false allegation) and raided his premises. What happened next was one of the business owner's former employees who has started a competing business, rang round all his ex-employers customers using their contact details that they had copied whilst in his employ, saying "Do you realise that the police have arrested X for growing cannabis?"
Result, X loses 40-50% of his dogs.
How dirty a trick is that?

Slanderous! They could sue, but I should imagine that’s a very expensive business these days :( An absolutely disgusting trick, and I think we can all guess who made the false allegation

that's shocking and goes to show just how low (desperate?) some people go

Thing is if the previous employer didn't have a contract with his then employee that specifically said s/he wasn't allowed to copy client details then I don't think there is much he can do about it.

But then talking as a pet owner - if I was a client I'd go to whoever I trusted most with my pet so if all those people happily moved away then one does also wonder why?
