Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 27 May 2022, 06:07

Good morning.

One word. Scorchio.

Been and back from my walk. :P

Jacob gets the keys to his new apartment on Tuesday and has asked me to go to IKEA with him as he wants to buy loads of stuff for his kitchen.
Normally I'd inwardly shriek at the thought but with today's temps being sky high again, the idea of an air conditioned store, plus the promise of lunch, has made this particular shopping spree a no brainer.

Friday beers and tapas tonight.

Have a great day.

Hello you two and everyone

Ally, enjoy the a/c ;) Me personally, I love a bit of Ikea and would happily tag along, esp if it involves spending someone else's money and not mine    . But have to ask; it's not usually so hot this early in the year is it? Looking at the long(er) term forecast for here, it seems that June will finally bring double digits at night time, but only just and day time figures are still either high teens / low 20's.

Jan, hope you manage to get some nice new books, happy reading. I'm sure I've asked before, but have you ever thought about a kindle? Once you subscribe to Kindle unlimited there are endless books you can download for free?

Well, vet appointment in a bit for Monty - he's due his boosters. Then the usual mix of work and pootling and hopefully pop into a local garden centre to get some veg plants. I just haven't gotten round to sowing all that much and what I have sown is struggling because of the cold nights; so figured I may as well get a head start and buy some plants and then I can take over with the succession sowing for the crops that need it.

Have a lovely day everyone xx

good morning all.
I'm with you Ally. IKEA = hell. 6.19 for the eggs Jan? . I hope Monty isn't too upset by the vet Ria, ours always loathed it.
A chilly morning here.
Our daughter and son in law are off to Scarborough for a concert, which means we have Eliza and Dobby the dog until tomorrow afternoon.
We never left our kids with anyone overnight, not even family. I guess times change.
We are taking Eliza out for lunch, which will be nice.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

We overslept a bit this morning so have been rushing round more than usual getting washed, dressed etc. Forgot the Sainsbury's order can arrive anytime between 12-1. Thought it would be sensible to have some clothes on, can't have them refusing to deliver ;)

It's usual wash day too so the first load is in the machine. I'll be busy enough so E will have a walk around the nearby streets on his own today.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s sunny and warm here. Still quite breezy though.

Bill had his early walk and then I did some ironing while waiting for the Tesco delivery. That’s all been put away, they’ve been notified and have refunded the shortdated items (it’s a regular occurrence and the pickers are supposed to make a note of anything short dated so that they’re listed on the emailed receipt and customers know in advance but they don’t bother).

I’ve been to the post office since then and I’ve been looking for a birthday present for Amanda, she’s 21 on June 7th. I think I’ve decided on some Pandora earrings. It’s also Shannon’s birthday on the 3rd so I’ve got to think of what to get for her.

It’s sounds like Joe and Amanda are having a wonderful time. Manda’s friend is on a one year placement on one of the Greek islands, she’s studying marine biology so that’s where she’s been sent, so they got a ferry yesterday to visit her. Joe messaged me saying that it’s beautiful, very traditional and not at all touristy, and they were going to stay overnight.

Al, I love an Ikea trip! Enjoy the air-con!

Have a good day all :)

Afternoon all, it was sunnier earlier but is much more cloudy now. It’s beautiful in the sun but there is a cool breeze. I have an ingrown toenail and my toe is rather red and sore. I couldn’t get a chiropodist appointment until Monday. I popped up to the chemist to see what they would suggest, and was told that the local nail bar does good work with ingrown toenails - that sounds good as I have a pedicure booked for tomorrow. So I’ve had a chat with the nail bar and they reckon they can help, which would be great. Then I went out shopping, had a few bits and pieces to get, while Edward went to play golf. Back home now, and I need to put clean bedding on the bed, as I left it stripped and airing before I went out. We’re going dancing tonight.
