Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 08 Jun 2022, 05:13

Good morning.

Thinking yippee....a cooler 36° till I spotted it's sneaking back up to 40 over the weekend.
Looking at my diaries for this time in previous years mid 30s is the norm. Higher than that is July/ August temps.

It's 7am as I type and like yesterday, just feels too hot for a walk.
Thank goodness we have a good sized pool as I'd be cracking up not exercising.

Due to other commitments on our time today's the only day we have totally free together till after Madrid so it's designated to go shopping for a new bed.
We said at the start of the year about getting a new one and suddenly it was June!

At least the car has A/C as do the shops.

I also need to get some new trainers and want a lightweight hat of some description for Madrid. It'll be too hot for a tight baseball cap on my head.

The relaxing Sewing Bee is what I'll need this evening.

Have a great day.

Morning Ally, morning everyone

Grey and cloudy start again and bluddy cold out there in the wind

My brother was saying how hot it is where he is in Spain and we seem to be the opposite in the early morning, but by 10.00, we-ve warmed up 8-) Grumpy put long trousers and a jacket on to the watering earlier  I shivered in shorts

Off to Ourique later, to into Aldi and the cat loved the treats I bought yesterday, so will get some more before they run out, drop books off at the library and then the dentist, to have that tooth out.

Back to feel sorry for myself and do the prep for the tuna salad we-ll be having for the next couple of nights.

Happy shopping Ally, at least the shops will be cool.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you-re doing xx

Just have the news on and it-s piddling down in Porto :o :o

Morning all, it’s quite dull although occasionally the sun breaks through for a couple of minutes

Had a long walk with Bill first thing and we were back in time to have half an hour with Joe before he left for college. I’m now contemplating cleaning the stair carpet. I bought a small carpet cleaner last week, I’ve got a full sized carpet cleaner but it’s a bit of a faff on the stairs. I did one flight of stairs and the fabric parts that can’t be removed on three sofas and two armchairs yesterday but I couldn’t stand the noise of the machine any longer so gave up. It’s done a decent job though.

Now I’m waiting for an Amazon parcel that should be here before 1pm. I’ve ordered us some Sho reusable cups, we’ve got several of their bottles which are absolutely brilliant.

Have a good day all :D

Morning all.
Rain overnight but warm now.
That Bill is a lucky dog Jo. Glad that Molly liked her treats Jan.
We are having Eliza today and will probably take her to the Heronry nature reserve where they have a children's playground.
This evening the gin bottle may come out!
Have a great day everyone!

Hello all and good morning
Ally, do you have a/c in the house? I can't remember but enjoy the a/c in the car and shops and hope you get all the bits and bobs you're after
Jan, good luck with the dentist - take it easy for the rest of the day x
Cruiser, hope it's dry enough for you to get out into the garden
Jo, hope the parcel turns up on time.... no idea what Sho is so off to google :D
Crommers, have fun with Eliza today and enjoy that gin when you get to it this evening ;)

Well another day in the office for me and I'm oh so tired. Nadine stayed over at mine last night and we ended up chatting until way to late and probably shouldn't have had that last glass of wine, but alas - we did   Oh well - today too shall come to an end and I can go home and chill.

Nothing else to report really - have a fab day everyone x

Morning all :D

The weather can't make up it's mind here, mostly overcast, but the sun's trying to come out.

Good luck with the new bed search Ally.
Jan hope the dentist visit isn't too awful, definitely take it easy when you get back.
Hope the Amazon parcel arrives on time Jo.
Enjoy time with Eliza Crommers, like the sound of gin afterwards.
Try not to fall asleep at work Ria.

We loved the film yesterday, it more than lived up to expectations. As for Tom Cruise, he's such a good actor. We must have had a torrential downpour while we were in the cinema, the car park was afloat by the time we came out :o

E's got a physio appointment at our local hospital at 2pm. A waste of time really, it would have been helpful soon after his op which was 6 weeks ago yesterday. He's walking unaided without any trouble so I doubt they will want to see him again.

Hope you all have a good day xx

Ria, Sho is a UK company which sells reusable bottles and cups. We have the bottles and they really do keep drinks insulated, whether they’re hot or cold. Me and Joe often take bottles with coffee in for the drive back from Manchester and at least 7 hours after making them the drinks are still piping hot. Cold drinks stay icy cold for 24 hours (I know, I’ve tested them). They’re more convenient than taking a large flask when we don’t want to stop on the way home.

Jen, glad you enjoyed the film. We’re going to see it tomorrow night :Hi:

The dentist very kindly hasn't charged me anything for all the repairs and now extraction of the tooth. Took four x-rays this morning, to see if it could possibly be saved, but the bone is disappearing

He showed me the x-rays , and explained his reasonings , which I quite understand and then the tooth, when it was out

Will just read this afternoon.

Warm but blowy, so the pool is still covered to keep it warm 8-)
