Good morning Friday

Postby Ally » 01 Jul 2022, 05:57

Good morning.

Scorchio. 8-)

Well it would be as I'm still in Spain.

Everything went fab yesterday checking in etc at the airport and I thought my luck was in and I'd dodged the Ryanair strike bullet.

We all gathered at gate C39 and that's where we remained for four hours till it was announced - not by Ryanair staff as there were none - but by an app on our phones to tell us our flight was cancelled.

We were given compensation forms....all in Spanish so I was designated to read it out to the little group of us who'd all suddenly become best friends.

Cue us all weaving back to passport control then onto the carousel area to collect our luggage.

As this was happening I was Whatsapping Don getting him to book me on the next available flight.

I'm on the 11.55am Jet2 flight today.

Don picked me up around 7.30 last night, we went straight to our favourite local for a couple of beers and got a takeaway.

I didn't even bother bringing my case in from the car.

So it's take two today.

I wouldn't be surprised to see some of the passengers from yesterday on it.
It sounds silly but even though stuff was going on, the Scots sure know how to make the best of a bad situation.

Have a great day.

Blimey Al, what a saga! :cute: Still at least you have a reliable flight today - safe travels :) :) xx

Morning all :)

It's a bit cloudy here, not sure what's forecast for later. Need to get a walk later, so will head into town. I need the exercise, Pilates was quite intense last night  Might finish the ironing later, then again I might not ;)

Have a good day everyone :) xx

Morning Ally, Kaz and everyone

Sunny start but why does 15C feel cold? Up to more normal temperatures - again - from now on 8-)

Hope you can get on your flight today Ally xx

Cleaning morning this morning and then that will do for the day. Will be too hot to do anything outside once I've finished.

Hopefully will be in the pool this afternoon. So pleased that we managed to find a couple of lilo's that have a mesh bottom. Means I can just l can keep cool, when it gets warmer 8-)

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing xx

All checked in with lovely smiley Jet2 staff. :D

Obviously when I booked my Ryanair flight last November strikes weren't on the horizon.

good morning and happy Friday everyone

Safe Travels take 2 for you Ally, hope all is on time and it's easy going from hereon

Saundra, that is so sad; life is really hard sometimes; but good on him for doing what he did and fingers crossed something comes of the interviews / offers received
Jan and Kaz, hope you enjoy your days with the bits and bobs you're up to

I'm at work this morning, but leaving at 11am - have a doctor appointment at 11.30 and will then go home after that; well via Sainsbury's because the poor chickens and cats are really short of food. Usually I'd top up on a Wednesday but this week it was early starts and late finishes so I just couldn't get there and the little local shops just don't have what I need.

have a fab day everyone x

Morning all, it was fairly damp when we got up but is brightening up a bit now. Edward and Michael are going to play golf so we’ll go to collect Michael around 11.15 and bring them to the golf club. Then back here to have some time to myself after a busy few days. I need to go to the post office to take out some money and I will make a pasta sauce for dinner. Dancing tonight.

Saundra, that is so sad, I really hope he gets a job soon. Hope your flight goes ahead Ally, lots of flights being cancelled out of Dublin at the moment, I’m so glad we are not going away again until early September.

Morning all :D

Bright and sunny here 8-)

Blimey Ally, what a palaver, safe flight today.
Have a good walk Kaz.
Enjoy the pool Jan.
So sad Saundra, I hope he gets a job offer at one of the interviews xx
Your day sounds busy Ria.
Have fun dancing Osc.

We were up and about really early, I needed to drop something off at our surgery, then into town to chase my prescription which was e-mailed through just over a week ago. While we were there I popped into the newsagent, he hasn't sent a bill since 7th May. Saw his wife who didn't have a clue what was going on, I asked for a print off as I always pay by bank transfer and also mentioned we didn't get a delivery on 23rd June. Of course that sent her into a fluster, she didn't know how to credit it so handed me the £1.60 in cash :o Finally got back about 11ish, we've not long had brekkie.

It's Friday so the washing machine's on the go, also doing the bed change today. Expecting a Sainsbury's delivery later this afternoon, definitely no plans for anything else!!

Hope you all have a good day xx
