Good morning Saturday

Postby Ally » 16 Jul 2022, 04:22

Good morning.

Another gorgeous day. 8-)

We had a fabulous day yesterday.
Made good time to St Alban's and spent a lovely couple of hours there.
Baby Rachel is absolutely gorgeous and was awake the whole time we were there. I'm besotted.

Made great time to Birmingham where Jackie and Amiee met us at the Three Horseshoes.
Craig stayed to have a drink and dinner then set off back to Nottingham.

Jackie moved two years ago from her huge house in Marston Green to where she is now. Talk about downsizing.
It's an apartment block on the Coventry Road that used to be a Social Security office.
Really nice and lovely views from the roof terrace.

Amiee flew over from Australia two weeks ago for Jackie's surprise 60th party and is here till the beginning of August and it was lovely last night the four of us sitting chatting.

Today's schedule is bacon, eggs and sausages for breakfast  then getting ready to go over to New Oscott cemetery to pay our respects to Don's brother Eddy.

We'll then head into Sutton Coldfield for a mooch.
Gez is picking us up and we'll go back to his house where Sharon will be waiting then tonight we're going out for drinks and an Indian meal. :D

This trip has focused very heavily on socialising and dining out.

Have a great day everyone.

Good morning everyone.

Ally, glad yesterday was as fab as it was x. You certainly are covering lots of territory whilst you're here
Kaz, enjoy your usual Saturday
Sandra, have a fab time with scarlett x

Well I managed to walk to the allotment today and gave things a good water. I had asked four other sets of people to each water a bit for me during this week whilst I couldn't get there; so grateful for their help. But suspect this year is going to be a write off for some of the veg
, things just seem to struggle with growth this year and I'm really starting to wonder if the manure had something in in that it shouldn't - I really don't recall it ever being this bad before :-(

Oh well it is what it is. I'll known different for next year

Going to have a chill day reading today, given I can't do much else... quite nice really, last time I did that was when I was away on holiday

Have a lovely day everyone, stay cool x

Morning all, it’s nice here but a nasty looking sea mist is hanging just off the harbour, hope it stays there! Miss Osc messaged me earlier saying that she forgot to cancel her monthly flower delivery, if I would like to have them. I went over before breakfast to collect them, and to deliver Michael’s school books. The sea mist is worse on her side of the hill but is clearing away a bit now - she says the weather in Wicklow is very disappointing :( Edward was up early to see Ireland beat New Zealand to win the series for the first time, I am no fan of rugby but this is an incredible achievement. Now he’ll be watching golf for the rest of the day. I’m just about to sit in the sun and read my book for a while.

Morning all :D

Hot 8-)

We've been without water since yesterday evening. We're on the priority list and were promised a delivery of bottled water to arrive first thing this morning, but it didn't turn up. Instead I had a message at 8am to say it was fixed, but by the time we got up to wash it was off again.
Just been speaking to them, same problem and they don't know how long it will take. The chap couldn't say when/if water deliveries would start. They've always been good in the past, feeling frustrated and decidedly sticky right now!

Hope you all have a good day xx

Afternoon all, it’s horribly warm here.

Bill had a very early walk and we’ve just been tatting about since then. Shannon’s staying this weekend so dinner will be barbecued tonight, they can all sit outside if they want but I’ll bring mine inside  Tom and Shannon have just gone to Blists Hill Museum at Ironbridge, we’d have gone too as it’s dog friendly with it being an open air museum but it’s far too warm for Bill, shame as he loves it there.

Oh Jen, what an inconvenience. Hope it’s sorted soon!

Saundra, have a lovely time with Scarlett x

Have a good day all :)

Finally got water at 3ish, what a palaver. Shouldn't really complain, the Isle of Sheppey were without for over 3 days :o
