If the media is to be believed we're all going to be fried alive today!

Today's plan is a slightly less manic one than the past few days.

Don needs to check in online for his flight tonight so he'll do that then we're going into the city centre to meet up with Judy for a coffee and a natter.

She's then heading off to Manchester for a meeting and Don and myself are going to the pub where we met in 1988 (The Trocadero) for lunch.

Back to Jackie's then we're going to drop Don at the airport at 5.30 for his 7.30 flight.

Aimee's making dinner tonight... she's a good wee cook.

Feels cool at 18C in the shade but we're in for another lovely, slightly cooler day today

Washing out, watering done, now for coffee and athletics. Proper coach potato me

Hope Don's flight goes okay and he gets home.

well up early and at the allotment just after 6am to water, such a lovely time of the day it really is; only two other people around. Got home and had coffee outside in the back garden, the patio will be in shade until about 9.30 / 10am so it's lovely and cool there for now. Got the curtains drawn in the lounge (front of house) to keep the morning sun out so fingers crossed the house remains nice and cool. Will give the plants in the greenhouse a good water in a bit and also mist the ground / air in the chicken run as that'll help them keep cool.

Other than that it's back to the usual / usual work day for me

Still a little freshness in the air here but I guess that will go soon. It is a lovely morning.
Hopefully we will not all self combust today although listening to the BBC you'd think it was the end of days instead of a glorious summer's day.
MrsC is going to the hairdressers this morning and then to our son's to do a bit of cleaning.
Safe travels to Don, enjoy your cooler day Jan and I hope the chicken sty cool Ria! (Cats also).
Apparently soom people have booked two nights in hotels with air conditioned bedrooms; now there's a crafty move.
Sometime today we will do the cheapo version and go to our local air conditioned Sainsbury's!

Morning

Up early as Mick had a train to catch - he's off to Ipswich on business until Friday. Hopefully no delays or cancellations. Not going into town today, Emma doesn't fancy it in this heat. I will probably walk up to the Co-op in a while, for a newspaper and to use their cash machine so I have cash for tomorrow.

First thing in the morning is the best time in this weather Ria. When I was a child my mum used to wake us up early on holiday sometimes, to go for beach or country walks

Morning all, it’s a gorgeous day here, Edward has just gone to play golf wearing his golf shorts for the first time although he wears them at home. I’m going to the gym in a while, I’m expecting a delivery but have been sent no time window for it yet. I need to go to the chemist and renew prescriptions to be collected later. I’m toying with the idea of changing the bed but it’s a bit warm for that kind of exertion!! Might manage an hour reading in the sun later.

Hot, hot, hot

Was up at silly o'clock, had hospital appointment for a check up. Well that was quick, got to the hospital and had just parked when my mobile went. It was one of the secretaries to tell me the nurse had just let them know she wouldn't be in today to take the clinic. Just as well it's our local hospital and is only 15mins or so from home. Also lucky I'd only just gone through the barrier and picked up my parking ticket, it's free for the first 30mins. So back home for brekkie.

Not walking today, plan to sit in the garden under our big brollies and relax.

Have been to Tesco. It was lovely and cool inside. Neede some soup, cheese and lime cordial.
Have been outside in the sun for an hour. Got plentyof sun cream on.
Wii be out again this afternoon.
Have heard a lot of people who WFH have decided to goback into the air conditioned offices.
