Good morning Wednesday

Postby Ally » 20 Jul 2022, 05:24

Good morning.

Another lovely day. 8-)

Today is our Thelma and Louise Blackpool road trip.

We're setting off around 9.30.

Once there we'll check into the hotel, leave our mini rucksacks and head straight to the pleasure beach.
We've got tickets for unlimited rides all day. :cute:

Dinner tonight is fish and chips.

This is my gift to Jackie for her 60th birthday and it also coincides with us meeting 44 years ago in Butlins. :D

I can't think of a better person to have as a best friend and I'm so looking forward to a girly giggly (more like laughing uncontrollably) time.

Have a great day. X

Morning Ally, Saundra and everyone

Warm but with a chilly wind. Warming up again this week 8-)

Have a fantastic time Ally :Hi: :Hi: Happy birthday to Jackie :D

Blasted rabbits and hares are now eating my bulbs  in the garden. Poor things must be desperate.

Off to Ourique this morning. We have a meeting with Nuno at 10.00. He rang yesterday and asked that we come in to see him, as Brian wants an easement on the access. No idea what, yet, but I will, no doubt, be posting later

Also need to do Aldi, Pingo and the chemist. Pit stop for coffee on our way back.

Have a good day everyone, whatever you're doing

merry morning you three and everyone

Ally, have just the best time. I've only been to Blackpool once but have very fond memories of that day
Saundra, sorry you had a bad night; can you try have a snooze this afternoon?

Jan, will be interesting to see what Brian is after. Thing with him is that if you give in just a bit he will completely override anything and then you're stuck; you really cannot agree to anything that may give him just a micromillimeter opening onto that land. Fingers crossed for you x

What a much cooler day today :D - I bet most of the UK woke up with a huge sigh of relief this morning. Another usual usual for me. Have a Sainsbury's delivery coming a bit later this morning and then two friends coming over for dinner so a nice mix of work / pootle / social

have a lovely day all x

Good morning everybody.
Cloudy but muggy. There is a breeze but it doesn't seemmuch cooler.
Ally, I have ben to Blackpool many times. When I was young we could go on the train from Wigan to Blackpool and then into the Winter Gardens
for two shilling and sixpence. There were big bands like Joe Loss, and Eric Winstone. I don't know if it is still there but there used to be a sliding
roof over the ballroom to let the hot air out during the summer.
Have Also seen the lights a couple of times.
When I was working I was taken to the top of the Tower. This is above the platform where visitors go.
I am going shopping this morning. Will just be pottering this afternoon.

Have a good day evrybody.

Morning all, seems cooler here and not much sun. We’re going shopping shortly, TK Maxx and Boots mostly. I also need to pop into the optician to have my sunglasses measured for my new prescription, then they’ll fit them when they come in, better than having to send them away. On the way home I’ll get petrol, as we are off to Wicklow tomorrow for the day.

Ally enjoy Blackpool, I’m not a great fan of the place generally apart from the Tower Ballroom of course. I would point out that I ventured on to The Big One some years ago, when I was in my mid-60s, the friends who accompanied me were up to 20 years younger. I confess that I did not open my eyes the whole time though - but I did it!

Morning all.
In the night MrsC got out of bed to lie down in the spare room. Changed her mind after a while, came back to bed but couldn't get in because I had rolled over into the middle of the bed. She couldn't move me or rouse me so she had to go back to the spare room.
Much fresher here today thank the Lord. Not much on but we'll have a mooch around town this afternoon.
Enjoy Blackpool Ally.
Have a good day everyone.

Morning all :)

Ally I hope you both have a brilliant time :D :D xx

Saundra it must be 40 years since the one time I went too, think it was October to see the lights, and it was blooming freezing   xx

Fingers crossed your neighbour isn't being too annoying Jan! XX

Ria I certainly was relieved to find it a lot cooler ;) Have a good day xxx

Enjoy pottering Cruiser :) xx

You were brave Osc! :D 8-) xx

Crommers that did make me chuckle! Poor MrsC  xx

Well as already mentioned, it's lot cooler here today, but still pleasant 8-) I am fed up being stuck indoors, so D is going to pick both Fraggle and I up on her way home from her lung foundation exercise group, and we'll spend a few hours round there later. It's really awkward as he just hates being left on his own these days, so while Mick's away I'm stuck in really. He can't walk far enough to get up to D's and I can't walk him up to the local shops as I won't leave him outside unattended - so many dogs get stolen these days you wouldn't believe! So it's D to the rescue

Have a good day everyone xxx

Not as bad as we thought.

He wanted us to cut a tree down and some branches off another tree, so he can get a mobile home put onto his land.

As Nuno said, you can't just cut trees down or branches and he doubts very much that we'd get permission anyway. They are oak trees and, as such, are more protected anyway,

So he came out to have a look himself, as doing it on google earth wasn't that easy.

We have agreed that, as a one off, if there is no other alternative, he can take down a couple of our fence panels, have the lorry drive across our field and then onto his field. He will have to pay for the removal and put back of the panels and any other damages caused.

What he really wanted was for us to move our electric wall, as it encroaches onto his 10 metre access  Nuno is going to reply with the fact that we only have three metre access through his land

Nuno is also going to see if he can find any other route that wouldn't be too much of a problem for Brian, but the only other alternative would be to ask Jose Antonio to let Brian go across his land, and we can't see that happening  Not after Brian repeatedly let his goats onto Jose Antonio's land

So we didn't do the shopping and I have plenty of food and water, so we'll do that tomorrow.

Now heading for the pool.

Morning all :D

Hot and sticky!!

We had a storm around midnight, lightening, thunder the lot. Although the rain was heavy It didn't last long and it certainly didn't freshen the air. I actually popped the fan in the bedroom, the humidity was awful, the worst night so far. We had planned a walk today, but neither of us slept well so we've decided to be lazy and relax in the garden.

Stay cool and have a good day xx
